Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !

Finally, Onda has published the final version of their Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware for their Onda V818 (hardware V1) tablet.
The stock Onda V3.0 firmware is expected to correct some issues from the previous Android 4.2.2 beta (Youtube videos, top right notification, system Force closes)
Our custom firmware modifications will be limited to a few fixes, Chinese apps clean up.Â
Firmware build information

Android system:Â onda/fiber_ondam784q6/fiber-ondam784q6:4.2.2/JDQ39/20130515:eng/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst-keys
Our rooted custom firmware features:
- root with latest SuperSU 1.25 (free version)
- system default setup English
- removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
- Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
- updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
- Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
 Â
Download:Â kasty-onda_v818_mini-422-v30-rooted.zip
Flash with PhoenixSuite (tutorial)
After flashing the tablet, a Setup Wizard should display on first boot to configure your network, regional settings… If the wizard does not appear, just disconnect your USB cable from the tablet, make a short press on the power button to turn off the screen. After the screen is turned of, press the power button for a short time again to power the tablet, the Setup wizard should appear.
Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a Onda V818 mini to test it.

Seems that 4.2 didn´t help the sluggish internet browsing. Maybe the 1GB RAM is just too little.Should have gone for the 813...
I don't think that 1gb RAM is too little. My old Cube single core with custom 4.1.1. have 1gb too and it's very faster on internet browsing.
I should have gone for the 812 or 813 too or rockship 3188 tablet (like Cube U33GTmini)Â

It is weird that everything else runs "smoothly", downloading, installing etc is good but then internet browsing is just making the experience terrible.Â
you're right.
I tested the flow of my internet connection.
with my PC 14050 kbps
with the browser of the tablet : the flow is not steady but average 4230 kbps
with the application speedtest on the tablet : 11399 kbps regular flow.
the difference between the tests is huge. with the browser, it's terrible!
do you really think it is necessary to install 4.2 ?

Can you change the security WiFi to wep and test again with speedtest please?
I've always used to set security wifi on wep.
Well, i've flashed firmware with "format upgrade mode" (not "normal upgrade mode" as recommanded) and it seems to get better.
I'll publish is the same, but browsing is better. I'll publish browser et speedtest later

I agree.. Browsing is better.. however, i did notice now that downloading an app is super slow.. and as its downloading, the whole tablet slows down.. it picks up again after downloading has ended.. but during download super slow.. anyone notice that too? I also chose "Format Upgrade Mode"
