It's quite likely an issue from the manufacturer's firmware.

There is no change in our custom firmware regarding the way the widgets work.

Cheers.

Thanks for the response at least I know what the problem is. I aso found a few more bugs I could not download Google plus app or any keyboard replacement apps from Google play. But I think its the KitKat firmware that is the problem since I could download these apps before KitKat.

Thanks again.

Hello, I have the same problem. Uncheck the automatic update in all the application and make it manually. Updating one by one I solve the problem.

Bye

Here is latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Onda V812 (V1/V2/V3/V4 hardware)  based on newest Onda firmware release version 4.4

Thank you for the Kitkat update, Admin! :-)

Over all, this version is running smoothly. It seems like my Onda V812 is faster now, but I did not measure that. My Onda did not have the reported issues with WiFi and camera. But I ran into a few other problems. Whatever I try, I can't login to my provider's e-mail account. I can read my mail via webmail, but not via IMAP.

Some apps that used to run on 4.2.2 don't work anymore. Amongst them are Google+ and some games.

Any suggestion on how to solve the problem with IMAP and the compatibility issues is appreciated. Otherwise, I'll be patiently waiting for an update with these issues solved. Apart from the issues, the Kitkat update is good.

edit 2014-06-12: It turns out that my tablet freezes very often. I'm going to downgrade. :-(

unluckily, even setting manually the apps update, the tablet often frezees and i'm forced to turn off the tablet. this situation really sucks. is it so hard to create a fully working firmware? they should stop invading market with new devices and workin to offer better firmware, i have paid this crap with "fully working" and i want what i deserve, not a sort of beta product . i also use a pipo m9 and android sucks in that tablet, too, (made last update), personally i'll not buy another device with android. i don't understand the utility of having more power ( 388cpu, 94 gpu cores, 100 MB of ram, etc.) supported by an embarassing software. i have a cheap nokia 630 ( quad core, 512MB ram) and the difference between certain 8 core android smartphones\ this nokia that runs very fast and very stable  is the perfect explanation from a bad optimized system and a real good one.

Hello,

It has been a while Onda hasn't made updates to their firmware, I am afraid they probably won't produce any new firmware for their Allwinner A31 devices. Confused

As for our custom firmware, there are probably a few small improvements we could add, I'll see what can be done in August.

Cheers.
