I tried again to use v2.0 but there is too many bugs in it... the display isn't optimized at all... back to v1.35

How are you rolling back to 1.35?

And here is hoping the 4.2.2 firmware comes out this week for the v813 as well. And that it works.

Here is a custom firmware based on Onda official update version 2.0  for the Onda V813 tablet.

(V813Core4_v2.0.rar)....

....Please note that I don't have a V813 to test this firmware, feedback welcome.

many thanks for this.

I just received a v813 from Onda-tablet.com, delivered by DHL to France with no problem. I managed to flash with this firmware and it is looking very good.

Still all a bit new to me but when I have more time, I will try to give some feedback.

All is going very well so far with the 2.0 root custom firmware. No isssues to report and enjoying it very much.

I just noticed this page,

http://www.onda-tablet.com/news/onda-quad-core-tablet-android-4-2-os-frimware-will-coming-soon/

saying

"Dear Valued Customer,
We got the latest message form our Onda Factory,we will release the latest Onda V972,V812,V811/V801/V813/V818 Mini/V973 Quad Core Android 4.2 OS Firmware the next week."

Will there be any chance of an updated custom firmware based on this for the v813 as well as the other tablets listed?

If not, I presume installling the new Onda firmware will completely remove all the current custom set up

To roll out to v1.35, you must use PhoenixSuit and flash the v1.35 image that can be found there :

http://file2.mydrivers.com/ondata/download/driver/oamp3/V813Core4/V813Core4_v1.35.rar

And about v2.0 having no problem... Well, there is a lot of glitches... Of course, nothing that may stop you from using the tablet but once you start noticing them, they become very annoying... And too much of a nuisance for me to stay on it.

So, i'm really waiting for that newest firmware and really hope it can solve all the glitches that appears with the v2.0.

It should be soon because it was posted one week ago..

Thanks for the link.

To admin ... Any chance of a arctools version of 1.35 for v813? It would be just for rolling back from 2.0 for those that are not happy with the WiFi stalls and black screens of the 2.0 firmware.

Don't know if I will do that myself yet. I can accept the stalls of some apps. And Firefox seems to be running WAY better than the Android browser or Chrome. Browsing the web with those on 2.0 is an exercise is deep patience.

If anyone is staying with 2.0 I'd recommend Firefox or turning off javascript and plugins in the Android browser. That will at least keep you sane when browsing the web.

The Onda V813 should be enabled in ArcTools now, I let you try it and confirm it's working fine.

TWRP is resolution/device dependent so there is little chance it works on the V813, but CWM should be fine, at least on firmware 2.0 or lower.

On more recent firmwares such as firmware 2.3 on other Onda partition layout has changed and it just screws custom recoveries.

Cheers.

Hello Admin

any idea why I cannot get CWM to work on my v813?

I am running the modified V2.0 ROM

On arctools, I get the message

"arctools has been denied superuser permission for an interactive shell"

"error 20: file copy failed""error 28: cannot create temporary directory"

If I run CWN direct as a separate app, I get "Unsupported device...." message

if anyone has any ideas/tips, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Pingu

I was wondering if anyone tried to overclock the V813 with firmware V2.0 from 1Ghz to 1.2GHz already?

It seems impossible as the tablet freezes all the time when I set it higher then 1080MHz.
One time i checked the box "Set on boot" with Antutu CPU master while overclock to 1.2GHz, and i needed to flash the V813 with PhoenixSuite again because it wouldn't start any program anymore after start-up, without freezing.

Concerning the rooted V2.0 version for this tablet, I just can state it's very buggy indeed, as many already mentioned.
I have this tablet for some weeks now and had a V812 before that (which i gave away unfortunately), but in my opinion the V812 is much better overall. In software stability and hardware feel/look.
