Onda V812 V5 root?

Hi guys,

Anybody out there know how to root the Onda V812 V5? I've upgraded to the V3 firmware from Onda's site but lost root in the process. A quick net search hasn't thrown up anything that clearly explains how to root the V5 hardware device, and most of what I've found seems to relate to V1-V4 hardware...

Alternatively, is there a kasty custom rom for the V5 on the way?

Hi Admin,

Thanks for the quick response - I understand you have to set priorities, and all the effort that goes into producing custom roms is very much appreciated, if not often stated. I'll just have to be patient!

In the meantime, if anyone can point me at a "how to" for the V5 hardware to root it myself, that would be great.

You may have a look at the link below, I'm not sure if it works on your setup, but in the worse case, you'll just have to reflash your device.

Yup! Following the instructions in the above link worked on my Onda V812 V5. Successfully rooted!

Thanks for the pointer, and I'll keep an eye on the forum for a custom rom.
