In the v972 forum they recommend downgrading youtube to get back video for that application. This also works on my v813.

Howdy admin, joined forum to seek better firmware for my V812 because I could not find the download at the Onda site other than a chinese version at ondabbs. After downloading both Phoenixsuit and the kasty firmware upgrade I tried to do upgrade but the Phoenixsuit program showed a dialogue box after loading firmware that said "Jump to upgrade mode fails", but allowed me to continue. After shutdown of tablet and home button re-attachment it displayed "PnpFelln Error". Any advice what I may be doing wrong????

I can't share much beyond what I had to do for my v813.

1) Shut down tablet.

2) Launch Phoenix and point it to the new firmware.

3) Hold home button down and then plug-in the usb cable. I actually never had to hit the power button at all.

4) Windows XP would notice the new device and Phoenix would see it ... and then it would fail.

5) Wait until the PnpFelin Error and then push and hold the tablet's power button for 10 seconds to shut it off. Close out Phoenix. Unplug the tablet. AND .... Go back to number 2 and try again.

After lots of times through the cycle ... if would finally go. Have no idea why. Most likely because Windows is evil.

Im on linux mint 14 can anyone provide a app or directions to flash with, as PhoenixSuite is for widows only.  I tried to flash it in the recovery menu but it always fails.  I had a coby kryos that I had not problem flashing in the recovery mode.  I also installed the clockwork mod easly but i bought this new onda v812 which is worlds better if only i could get the custom firmware to work.

I know how you feel. But, I haven't seen a firmware release the used the Update program on the tablet. The ones released at onda-tablet.com are all an archive with the .img and Phoenix Suite. Their updates keep talking about OTA updates. Be nice if they released those.

Has anyone seen a firmware for the Update program?

Dear Admin,

My v812 have a problem with "unfortunately, google play store has stopped" error. This message will be pop-up in every few minutes. This problem occurred after I upgraded to the 1.35 firmware. I've tried the below method:

1. clear data & cache in play store.

2. log out & reenter the google acc.

3. upgrade to the latest firmware v 2.0.

4. install the latest google play store.

The above methods cant solve the problem. Did I need to do factory reset?

Please advice..thanks.

Try a factory reset, and if that does not work, try and re-flash the tablet.

Reflashing could be a good opportunity to install latest 2.0 firmware which gives better performance and stability.

Cheers.

My onda v812 wont go into fastboot mode.  In linux mint i have not found another way of flashing may tablet but using adb and fastboot.  With My coby kryos all I have to do is hold home then plug in the cord connected to the computer and at the same time tap the power button fast over and over then it goes to fastboot mode.  How do you do it with the onda V812 tablet.

I don't think it, looks like you have the hardware V5 for which Onda offers a specific firmware:

http://www.onda.cn/Tablet/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductId=240&d=down

We'll eventually build a custom firmware for the V5 if there is enough demand.

I'm curious what V5 appears, is that on a stick from the tablet ? or in the system settings in Android ?

Dear admin
AFter update everything works just fine except the camera, the device keeps saying that it cannot connect to the camera. Other camera apps and video call dont work, either. My device is V5 so i just wonder if this problem only applied to version5 devices. Hope you can fix this or make a custom rom using the 2.0 v5 version firmware because im really excited seeing how much better the device got after update. Thanks so much for your work. Hope ill be able to make video call soon. :) )
