Can anybody advise this noob on unbricking my V812? Screwed up in the middle of flashing the custom firmware and now it's dead as a doornail! My laptop does (sort of) recognize it in the device list -- shows up as: "USB Device(VID_1f3a_PID_efe8)" Is there any way to get in? I've only had it for a couple weeks, and my kids really need it for school. Thanks!
Try to re-flash it using another usb cable from htc/samsung/sony, use even another pc for that, something with windows 7 will be perfect
Also if you use a desktop, use the usb ports from the back of the pc unit.
From our experience the default cables used by the Chinese manufacturers are dodgy , not all of them, but a big ratio
Nuts. Tried a cable I know to be reliable on my PC (flashing with PhoenixSuit), but still no good. Phoenix seems to react to connecting tablet to PC but only in that the following message comes up: "wait for pnpfesln timeout". Followed by a "Jump to upgrade mode fails" Message. Looks like the PC still won't recognize the tablet beyond generic, unknown device status?
What is the status of Phoenix Suit when you connect the V812??
Does is recornise the tablet and if yes with what version ???
If it does not recornise it at all by keeping Home Button press + Power button 10 times short press then do the following.
Leave the tablet to discharge complete for one night then as it dead plug the usb cable with phoenix suit/Upgrade running.
It will start download the new firmware.
After upgrade finishes then unplug it from USB and charged it .
If you leave it more time on the USB Port of yours computer will cut the port from overcurrent protection and
you have to restart yours PC to be functional again.
