From http://www.onda-tablet.com/news/ they are stating that May 15th will be the release date for Android 4.2.2 v2.3 firmware. And they are listing all their A31 tablets.
Hope they hit that date. I'm really looking forward to moving off the v2.0 firmware.

Well, I hope it will be available soon.. because at the moment, the only available roms is for the onda v972.. I is the newest one, fresh from oday. but nothing aboout the other tablets....
Or maybe that rom is compatible with all the quad core allwinner a31 tablet made by onda ?
It's probably not compatible, different tablet models have different hardware (screen/memory/touchscreen, maybe camera and sensors...)
There are even slight differences in different hardware revisions for a same tablet model and Onda made a specific firmware for each hardware revision.
So far, we actually have one firmware 3.0 update available for the V972, hardware V1.
Cheers.

Unfortunately
They did the same announcement about the pre-version.. They said they would release the beta-version of the rom v2.2.2 but they only released the version for the onda v972 v1..
And i hope i'm wrong but I do have the imprression the same will happen with the 2.2.2 firmware...
Sahme because im still using the 1.35 firmware and I was hoping to get a more stabel version of the firmware ( I dont talk about the v2.0 firmware.. It is soooo buggy and so poorly made that I cannot use it as a daily driver...)

Version 3.0 is now available for three tablets V972 V1, V972 V2 and V818mini

I hope. They haven't been the best with all this. If I worked at Onda I would have SLOWED DOWN on the hardware types.
If we wait much longer I may just donate again to get admin to cook up an arctools v813 1.35 firmware. With 2.0 surfing online (even with Firefox) is a test in patience.

Nice to see that i'm not the only one to think that the firmware 2.0 is buggy and no really usable as a daily driver.... v1.35 isnt perfect either but at least, the screen refresh is much faster and less buggy than the 2.0.
And still no new firmware yet for v813... I'm impatiently waiting for it... But so far, not good .. But still waiting.

To admin: I hope this isn't a waste of your time ...
But, could we have a v813 1.35 custom firmware too? The chinese version is at http://file2.mydrivers.com/ondata/download/driver/oamp3/V813Core4/V813Core4_v1.35.rar
... if you have that time that would be helpful. Thanks.

Ok, this morning they even added an updated version of the firmware for the onda v818.... But still no news for onda v813

The V818 update from today is actually a re-release from yesterday, both image files have the same MD5/CRC.

Does it work for our v812?
I would say no.
The hardware for each of the series are rather different and need their own firmware. They are all the same CPU, but the screens, touch panels, cameras, etc. can change not just from various form factors (v811 to v812 to v813 to v818) . They also change stuff in the sub-versions as well (v812 v1 to v5 now).
