I posted this in the 7f forum but it seems pretty quiet over there, so I'm re-posting it here in the hopes someone might see it. Sorry if that's a no-no... but I'm kind of stuck on this one and would be happy to have some input.
Are people generally finding that calendar sync works on these new Arctools firmware versions? Because mine is dead in the water... Anyway...
Hi, I'm new here. Just picked up a 7f a couple of days ago and have been enjoying it after flashing the Arctools firmware, which was a breeze, thanks for that.
So the only trouble I'm having at this point is with calendar sync, which simply doesn't work at all. I've done some searching here and elsewhere and it seems like this is a common problem, lots of people on lots of devices where everything else syncs with no problems, but either calendar or contacts or both are not happening. In my case contacts are fine, but calendar, not so much.
I did try to follow through some of the how-to procedures but have not had much luck, so I'm wondering if anyone has better or more specific suggestions as to where to get compatible versions of whatever files are needed (Calendar.apk? CalendarStorage.apk? GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk) and how to make sure they get installed correctly. For example, following instructions found here I have versions of these three files and have tried to install them but am unable to get GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk to install, and if I try to turn on calendar sync it tells me that Calendar Storage has stopped.
Thanks in advance, any help on this is appreciated!
If you agree, I'll delete this post here, as the Arnova 7 G3 is a different device to the Arnova 7f G3 (Boxchip Allwinner A10 vs Rockchip RK2918) and custom firmware works different.
Crossposting isn't necessary, as it scatters information, you could just have "bumped" the original topic...
I'll check it and will let you know.
