Yes joopas, that should be enough to restore the other firmware.

Cheers.

Hate to disappoint everyone but I have ghosting again. Happened randomly after installing an app and entering ES explorer... :-(

Same for me, almost instantly the display became ghosting.

The lock screen is normal so there must be some kind of driver that is causing the issues.

Does anyone else experience the tiles losing the link to the app? I mean, when you choose some app to appear in the tile in the launcher, the next time you start the iFive, the tile is empty? I've experienced this quite a few times and it seems that it always occurs to the same tiles.

@Admin: I waiting rom 4.4.2 for ifive 2s. Thanks

Yes, its the Rockchip code that has heavy and know bug. I own another tablet with RK3188 and the Engeneers from TruLux (japan) wrote me, that they dont plan any upgrade for their TLX-TAB7W (in the market as Finger One) until Rockship has removed the bugs. Trulux is still using 4.2.2 but they have a newer Kernel than ifive and their tablet can mircast, multiwindows and so on.

Ifive was quicker, i think they need Kitkat for better selling of their product.

Been using another V2.0.1 based ROM and I am finding a really boast in performance with 4.4.2 on the X2 and the UI changes work well too; I have also dropped DALVIK for ART.

The problem I do have (other than the loss of the Flash APIs!) is the ROM has the notification/status bar at the top of the screen.   Previously, I have found ROMs with the notification/status incorporated into the bottom navigation area.

Where is the navigation/status area in this ROM?

Cheers

You can search for exposed install and GravityBox [KK] - with this you can set up notification bar how and where you like it.

Thanks  rwanek.  Xposed and GB installed and running, but can't find the setting for changing location.

HiHo - 2.0.1 works perfectly fine on my X2 - no ghosting or glitches on videos even with MX Player Pro :)

The only thing missing is the wireless display configuration and the OC kernel via arctools

Cheers,

Jo

For those looking for multi-user support, I have implemented the patch didierm posted, thanks to him !

I have tested it for a short time on the PiPO M9 Pro and it appears to work fine.

This should be considered as a temporary solution until Rockchip or Cube provide a proper multi-user support in their firmware.

Download: kasty-fnf_ifive_x2-442-201_20140122-rooted4_mu.zip

Use Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.7 to flash the firmware, use Restore button.

Please note this is untested on the iFive X2 (I don't have one), feedback is welcome. Pictures above were taken on my PiPO M9 Pro tablet.

Cheers.

About those screen glitches issues. It has to do with different ifive x2 manufactured versions. After some research, it looks older tablet models use different ddr modules. New kitkat rom may have not been optimized for the newest ifive x2 models. We hope they get it fixed soon on next rom release...

@admin - can you pls add the new kernel from manupc to the arctools to be able to test it ? I've just installed CWM via arctools, but can't access the sd-card to flash it.

Thanks !

I've just installed this firmware: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/fnf-ifive-tablets/rom-fnf-ifive-x2-android-4-4-2-kitkat-custom-rooted-firmware-based-on-v2-0-1-20140122/page-2/#p38150 and I want to test the CWM recovery "iFive X2 Android 4.4.2 CWM Recovery by ManuPC" and the new overclocked 2.01 kernel from: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/fnf-ifive-tablets/rom-fnf-ifive-x2-android-4-4-2-kitkat-custom-rooted-firmware-based-on-v2-0-1-20140122/page-2/#p38173 with it.

I can't find those two as packages in Arctools at the moment. Probably because of the new 2.0.1 version. Can you make the CWM and (new) overclocked kernel available as Arctools packages for 2.0.1 (multi-user)?

I will add manupc kernel in ArcTools packages and make sure his CWM is also visible on 2.0.1 firmware.

Anyone has tested the new firmware patched for multi-user, see my post #25 ? I would like to get some users feedback on this.

Cheers.
