Of course you need the Rockchip drivers. How did you rooth your x2 without drivers? (I ask, because i have trouble with rooting another rk3188 device)

This is a good introduction how to install drivers: http://www.cnx-software.com/2013/11/08/simplified-method-to-install-rockchip-usb-drivers-in-windows-xp78/

Unzipping the zip file is no problem. I use 7zip and there is nor warning or so.

After installing the driver and the Rockchip Tool you ca go several ways. The easiest is to enable USB Debugging Mode in the setting. After pluggin with the PC and starting the Rockchip Tool, the tool should find a "Loader Device". Than you choose the image file and start flashing with the RESTORE Button. Dont plug off while flashing. And charge the tablet. The flashing need very high current (more than the USB from the PC delivers) - its no good idea doing this with an empty battery.

There are several instructions in the net - Google will find them.

cifs.ko and md4.ko don't work. I use cifs manager with these modules. X2 just crash then reboot no matter in art or dalvik. They used to work fine in 4.2.2. Maybe they don't compatible with new kernel.

I have converted ManuPC CWM custom recovery and overclocked kernel built for this iFive X2 KitKat firmware into ArcTools packages.

In ArcTools, the two packages should be visible only on iFive X2 tablets running the KitKat firmware (2014/01/08) and are named as follows:

iFive X2 Android 4.4.2 CWM Recovery by ManuPC

iFive_X2_Android_442_CWM_ArcTools_package_b.pngImage Enlarger

iFive X2 2014/01/08 Overclocked Kernel (cpu1800_gpu800) by ManuPC

iFive_X2_Android_442_FW_20140108_overclocked_kernel_ArcTools_package_b.pngImage Enlarger

Please check this ArcTools tutorial making sure you correctly select the packages above.

I don't have an iFive X2 so I haven't been able to test the packages on a real device. Still, I can confirm the CWM package works fine on my PiPO M9 Pro tablet running a KitKat firmware.

The packages come with no warranty, use them at your own risk.

Your feedback is encouraged to confirm these packages work fine, I will then update post #1.

Cheers.

Hi!

Does  anybody experience graphicproblems with this new rom?

After flash everything seems good but when doing something like open a browser or Play store the glitches begin and after a couple of glithes the whole screen seems offset, ive attached a photo of it. See below link.

 https://www.dropbox.com/s/5jyysss2jwbntpj/ifivex2_glitch.jpg

One way to redeem the problem is to lock the tablett (using power button) and unlock it. Then everything is back to normal for a few minutes. Then the graphicglitches starts again.

I have tried to reflash but with the same issues.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I have the same problem also. The solution is to lock it and unlock it again, but the glitch very often comes back. I haven't been able to reproduce it constantly, so have no idea what might be the cause of it.

Other than that this ROM is great, hopefully this little graphical glitch is resloved and finally this tablet becomes usable!

Install with arctools worked, reboot, run antutu, black screen at 21%, guess frequencies are too high for some tablets. Flashed ROM again to get stock kernel back, 20025 in Antutu.

I also noticed that locking and unlocking removes the glitches but it usually only takes a couple of secs to glitch again.

Doesn't work for me. Downloaded the overclock kernel, installed it, rebooted but 1,608 GHz is still the highest clock I can choose in No-frills CPU Control.
