Does anyone ever have experience that the tablet black out unexpectedly, sometime when rotating it between  portrait and landscape. Is it a hardware or software issue.
It's so weird.
Do you use one of those smart covers and fold the flap to the back of the tablet? There is a small magnet in this cover that will turn on/off the screen when you close the cover. But... this also happens when you fold it to the back of the tablet. I really guess that this is wat happens.
If I understand right, the default launcher in this firmware is giving you guys some troubles.
I can post a new test firmware with:
- a stock Android 4.4.2 launcher
- a PiPO M9 Pro Android 4.4.2 launcher, this tablet is also Rockchip RK3188 based and runs on the same resolution as the iFive X2.
Is anyone interested in testing, knowing it can lead to a non booting tablet and reflash will be needed ?
Cheers.

Hi Admin,
You have rebuilt the firmware adding back the iFive Video and Music players but I already used the first firmware. It's working great, now looking into disabling the Chinese weather app myself. If I manage to do it I'll post it here.
But could you make the iFive Video and Music players available as a zip-file so I can install them myself? Would be nice because I wouldn't have to flash it and set it up again with the 4b-firmware.

I guess you are right , thanks hars73, cheers. You can remove the small magnet, like I did, by cutting it out of the cover. Or just be sure not to fold the cover at the back.
You can also fold-fold it if it's this kind that you can fold to work as a table stand. So if you fold the cover under your hand, it'll cover only 1/3 of the tablet and won't switch it off.

About the Chinese weather widget on the lockscreen:
I managed to get around it by installing HD Widgets ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cloudtv.hdwidgets&hl=en ) and adding one of those widgets to the lockscreen. First had to go to Settings / Security and there "Enable Widgets" as it was disabled by default. Then I was able to first add a new HD Widget and then delete the Chinese weather widget and use only the HD Widget (with the weather from my hometown in it).
So I think lockscreen and launcher are not linked together. Even with the Google Experience Launcher that I was using myself, I had the Chinese weather widget on the lockscreen. The solution is to Enable Widgets, then add a new widget (a HD widget or any other one that works) on the lockscreen and then delete the Chinese weather widget there. That worked for me.

Actually there is no need to do anything special to get rid of the weather widget on the lock screen - Just add another widget (I picked the clock) then you can drag the weather app off and remove it. I rebooted afterwards just to check and Bingo  -no Chinese weather report.Â
