Why would you want an odexed version ?

According to some tests, done by other and by me also, the difference from an odexed/deodexed room is minimum (i am talking here about milliseconds) which will not improve the loading time of the apps, if you think that only because you have a deodex app, it will open instant, well you are wrong, you will gain some milliseconds
.
The main purpose of an odexed app is to improve the boot time, and that`s all in big lines
Odex, the dex files are loaded faster in the dalvik because are not compressed in the app itself.
Deodexed, the dex files are decompressed and loaded in the dalvik (this applies on the first boot, after that, if you don`t delete the dalvik, the boot time will be almost identical and please note, that i mention about boot time, not the overall experience with the android device)

Oma7144, admin, tobagobklm1234,
I totally agree with globula, having an odexed firmware may not be worth it.
I don't mind building one, but I'll do it only if you/someone commits to do some serious tests measuring the performance of this modification vs our standard custom firmware (post #1)
Cheers.

Many thanks for the rom!! works a treat.
I do have two questions if anyone can help.
1. How do I play 720p or 1080p footage at full framerate
2. Is this rom missing tilt functions as Reckless Racing 2 doesn't work but it did work on my U30GT2.
(I only just got this tablet and didn't try this in the OEM firmware)
Thanks for the info and help!

Hello, thank you very much for the rom. It works great. I did, however, have a few minor annoyances that I am dealing with.
1. On every reboot I have to disable HW overlays so the screen does not flicker when I am browsing. Is there a way this setting can be saved permanently?
2. My tablet turns back on when it is plugged in and I power it down. I read a post on this forum about 5v or greater will always reboot tablet when it is plugged in. Anyway to work around it? What is the standard votage of an outlet?
Keep up the great work. I love my x2.
Hello,
you should be able to disable hardware overlays and use GPU for screen compositing setting
debug.composition.type=gpu
use a build prop editor such as this one to edit your build.prop file
2. This is the usual behavior for many Android tablets, I don't think it's related to the charger model or voltage.
Cheers.

Yes, this behavior is designed into any device based on RockChip RK3066 or RK3188 processors. I agree that it is annoying. I think that RockChip did it to implement a fool-proof hardware based recovery on any RockChip based device. In essence, you can hold down whichever button is tied to flash recovery mode and then apply power to the device and the processor will automatically boot to flash recovery mode, regardless of it's current bootloader or device image. I try to think of the won't power down issue as a trade-off for having a tablet that is virtually impossible to brick.

I just received my iFive X2 (8,9) this week and flashed it with 4.2.2. rom (kasty-fnf_ifive_x2-422-115-rooted5). It works fine except the display turns off while I'm busy for a few seconds. I changed the time of screensaving but this doesn't seem to help. Perhaps the sensor is overactive or so. Is there anybody with the same problems? And a solution for it?
Thx from a newby...

parkpop,
I have not heard of this issue before, it almost sounds as if the tablet is sensing that it's case was closed.
What do you have set under Settings->Display->Sleep ?
How long does the screen take to go black from when you last touched the touchscreen ?
Try going to Settings->Developer Options and check the Stay Awake checkbox.
Keep the charging cable connected to the X2. Does it still turn off or does it actuallly stay on ?
Did you notice if it was doing this before you imaged the device ?

Seemed to be a bit better without charging, but still turns of the display when playing Wordfeud as example and while playing this, turning the tablet after Wordfeud game has turned on display (normally I use the tablet in Landscape mode but Wordfeud plays in standing mode). When leaving apps like Wordfeud of Quizbattle, I get the main Android screen and the the display blanks again. Pushing the powerbutton or touching the display it comes to life agian, but then sometimes blanks out again. I don't know why this happens, hope it's not a matter of bad hardware, the I will have to return it to China. And I had 2x tablet freezing up (facebook app and Google Hangouts each 1x).
I concected the X2 to my PC for charging. Same problem, when turning the tablet the display shuts down. In spite of Settings->Developer Options and Stay Awake option.
I didn't check this problem when I received the tablet from China, I immediatelly flashed it with ROM version Kasty 4.2.2 (chinese version was impossible to work with).
