I am making this topic to keep the history about firmware 1.1.8 problems that appear on the first releases of our custom firmware 1.1.8.

[ ROM ] FNF iFive X2 Android 4.2.2 custom rooted firmware based on v1.1.8 (2013/09/16)

The problems have now been fixed, see post #1 to download the proper firmware.

I treid to flash this rom, but the batch tool says 'Restore Done Success<0> Fail<1> Time>131094>ms' with red flag at almost end of the flashing.

*EDIT 1: I force reboot the device after the failure and it seems to work.

That's weird, this custom firmware is build just the same way as the previous custom Ifive X2 firmware.

Is anyone else is having this problem ?

I'm having a look right now.

Cheers.

Have no idea about that.

After force reboot, the device is working w/o problem(I was watching the batch tool while it was flashing the rom, and the fail thing happens like the end of(99%) firmware downloading.

I've just made a few changes in the firmware, I hope it fixes the flashing issue :

Download: kasty-fnf_ifive_x2-422-118-rooted4b.zip

It's untested as I don't have an iFive X2, please let me know how it works for you, I'll do my best to fix the firmware if there are still problems.

Cheers.

Can you tell me what changes did you made? I installed and customized(I mean, installed lots of apps) the first rom. Should I flash the new one?

Oh btw, 'view desktop page' thing(I don't know what it says in English locale) in Browser app is weird. It is always checked(enabled) whenver I open a new tab.

Changes made for the kasty-fnf_ifive_x2-422-118-rooted4b.zip firmware compare to previous one are quite small things that are internal to our custom firmware build process. There should be any visible difference for the user apart from a slightly increased system partition size (now ~640 mb).

I'm hoping my changes do fix the flashing problem and I encourage you an anybody to reflash if previous flashing wasn't 100% successful.

Cheers.

I tried the new version, but it fails too. Of course, the rom itself is working great.

Not having an iFive X2 (or an RK3188 tablet) doesn't make it easy for me to reproduce and understand the flashing problem Confused  I'll see if I can get hold on one and try to fix the issue.

Hello,

What are the differences between firmware ifive X2 422_V1.1.5 and ifive X2 422_V1.1.8 ? Is it faster, smoother and more stable?

Also in ifive X2 422_V1.1.5 firmware, the available memory is less than 650MB (that is more than 1.3GB of RAM is used by the system), How it increase available RAM?
