Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have an iFive 3 to test it.

Can you please be a bit more specific, what does not feel better on previous firmware ? For how long have you run the new firmware ?
As for CWM, have you tried both ManuPC and OMA CWM ?
Â
Cheers.

Well, I suppose this firmware removed all unessesary Chinese app such as: five weather, five music...but they still here. I install and use into 2 hours (tried to make like I did for previous firmware). I also use Arc tool to install CWM, of coure both Manu PC and OMA CWM, but when i restart in recovery, it cannot run CWM. Ah, and still 4GB space disk for application, not 7GB
In my opinion, it's look like previous firmware but cannot run CWM. And I have tried this stock rom, which was uploaded on http://www.ifive.com.cn, it's better this. So, admin can show me how to root on stock rom?
Hello,
Some apps were left in our custom firmware because of requests from users in the forum. Most of these apps are specific to the device and can't be downloaded separately from market stores like Google Play Store, etc... You can still remove them with a root file explorer like ES File Explorer.
About space for applications, I confirm it is setup for 4 GB and not 7 GB, I have corrected the first post to reflect that.
Regarding CWM, it's hard for me to do further test as I don't have an iFive 3 to see what is the problem.
Cheers.

Ah, almost iFive table users dont like weather forecast app, which appear at lockscreen, you can search this case in forums such as: ifive X2, MX 3g.... I have used Root Explorer to find and delete but impossible. So, can you mod this firmware without that app, it's called Fiveweather
By the way, i want to follow this forum on mobile, does arctable have any app on Google Play?

unfortunately ClockworkMod (CWM) does not work. I tried both ManuPC and OMA. After pressing"reboot recovery" nevers starts again showind the android robot down! Then manually reboot with the power button to turn it on.Â
iFive 3 (9,7 retina)
So, any idea?

Please excuse me if this is well known. After flashing with the latest firmeware I too did'nt like the
weather app on the lock screen however, after messing about a bit I found if you long touch the app
it reduces in size. Drag it to the top left corner when it turns red let go. In its place on your screen you
will have cross in a rectangle tap it and you get a block of widgets I chose the clock.
Hope this helps.

Hello Me again.. complaining about the WiFi..
Just to try I have put the rooted iFive 4.2.2 firmware on my iFive tablet, hoping it would improve wifi.. but no succes.
Seems the iFive only works on 802.11g and not the specified 802.11n standard.. so only 56 mbit bandwith.. wich is really anoying. That 802.11n standard was one of the main reasons to buy the iFive tablet.
I looked again at the producers website and it clearly states it should work on 2.4gHz en 5gHz dual band 802.11n standard.
Any explanation for this?Â
I hope FNF will release firmware with the 4.4.4 android firmware and with the promised 802.11n wifi connection.
androidbits,
Regarding the WiFI standard supported on your iFive 3, have you checked on your WiFI access point ? The AP usually list the connection type, frequency band/channel, speed and attenuation.
The same goes for the 802.11ac support and it's even easier to spot if you have no 5 GHz networks visible on your tablet it's probably not supported.
There's not much more I can say as I don't own this model, I can just tell it's not unusual that product specs on Chinese manufacturers or reseller website are inaccurate.
Cheers.
