The primary reason as to why I want to root it is because I want to install some root level apps which can be used to adjust colour saturation. The colours of the screen on this tablet is very washed out. It looks horrible, especially comparing to my phone. Otherwise it's a brilliant tablet for its price.Â
Happy to hear you got the ROM working.
I was curious: What apps were you thinking about installing that requires root? I also think the screen could use some adjustments. Are the apps permanent ones, not just services, i.e you can adjust and even if you uninstall the app the settings stay.

Hello Everybody!
i'm really looking forward to get this tablet, but i have some questions and i would be very happy if anybody can answer them.
Â
1. How is the performance with this amazing ROM? (The Videos with stock ROM looking very laggy)
2. What about the Battery runtime?
3. Can anybody please upload a Video with the ROM working on it? I would really love to see the ROM in action!
Thank you very much and have a great day!

The performance is pretty good. I still try to kill unused apps when I no longer need them, but it's probably not required. Screenshots of Antutu and battery life:
Originally I used the tablet as just an e-reader, so usage wasn't intensive other than the screen being on for long periods of time. Now that I have my bluetooth keyboard and office 365, I've been using it for writing up documents as well, so screen on, bluetooth on, wifi on etc etc. I've also started to use it more as my internet device around the home rather than fire up my laptop. Currently sitting at 69% battery for 1 day, 17hrs battery time.
Also, I'm running the 1.8ghz overclocked kernel. The OC kernel really made a world of difference in smoothness in general usage.
I'll probably leave creating a video for someone else.
Â
All said and done, for the money it is well worth it. My main device is a Note 3, which is buttery smooth and streets ahead of the mini 3, but you're comparing a $130 device vs an $800 device. I quite enjoy the mini 3Â and am very happy with it, I'm actually using my note 3 less as well as I move more to the mini 3 for email, web browsing and office documents.

Thank you for your reply!
Yeah, that sounds really good, so i will definitly buy the Mini3 or waiting for Mini4.
I just want an 4:3 Tablet with Retina Display and good performance.
So you mean, the Mini3 is worth buying and i dont have to expect lag's with the custom rom?
Is the picture gallery smooth?
Yes, the Note devices are fast as hell, but i don't like Samsung that much..i had an Galaxy Smartphone a few month ago and i was pretty disappointed.
Greetz!

Hello MiGHT,Â
I bought this tablet for watching Video. The picture on a HD movie is brilliant... I use it when the TV and Computer is in use... I find that the rest of my family are using it constantly...Â
Â
I had the custom rom on it but could not save to my SD card, so I moved back to the Stock rom. It fine for now... I decided not to overclock as i want to sustain the life of the processor...Â
I love the design of this tablet and it's not froze once on me... there are loads of bloatware apps but you can get rid of these very easily.
I paid ÂŁ118 for this device and would say it's worth every penny...Â
good luck.Â

i just bough this tablet few weeks ago, and immediately recognized that the screen is flickering: it doesnt flick very often, but noticeable in the dark. you have to pay attention to see that.
this doesnt make this tablet unusable, but is really annoying, and i think this is not good for my eyes in the long run if i read a long time on this tablet.
anybody has the same problem?
thanks.

Oh.. i have big problem with some games. For example - GT Racing 2. The menu is stretched on horizon. Buttons of a choice of the company are not located in the screen. On it it is not possible to play this game in general. It is not possible to choose the starting company.
And still a problem in Asphalt 8. In the main menu there are no textures.
PS: I test in base and this custom roms. Please help.

Hey guys
There seems to be new firmware with MIUI. Here is the link: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1o6wOWcy
And here is where I read about it: http://mikecanex.wordpress.com/2014/05/16/retina-class-ifive-mini-3-miui-tour/

Thanks for the Rom, it is much besser than die Stock Rom but also not smoothe enough for me :(. So i think about flashing an other kernel, can anybody please tell me how to do this and where i can get it from.
Thanks!
Â
*edit*
Â
To install it you have to follow these steps :
- Use RKBatchtool to put the tab in flash mode (with th switch button)
- Exit RKBatchTool
- Use RKAndroidTool to flash the Boot********.img (select only 'boot' and verify the path and name of the flash file)
- Click on the 'Run' button
- The tab restart, you have to select the max frequency with "NoFrill cpu control" for example….
Edit : i've only flash with the 1704mhz cpu, 660 gpu version…
Â
Works perfekt for that rom.Â
Will test the 1704mhz now, perhaps 1800 next week.
Will give you some new informations.

But with the 1,7GHz Kernel it seems smooth enought. Stock is very unsmooth.
