ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !
Here is a rooted custom firmware for the FNF iFive mini2 tablet based on official version 1.3.5Â
(ifive-MINI-2_FW_411_V1.3.5.rar)
Â
Build information:
Linux Kernel:Â Linux version 3.0.8+ (root@five-server) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #143 SMP PREEMPT Mon Mar 25 19:18:12 CST 2013
Android build:Â IFive/rk30sdk/rk30sdk:4.1.1/JRO03H/ifive.20130114.155911:eng/ifive-keys
Â
Custom firmware features:
- root with latest SuperSU 1.41 (free version)
- removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
- Google Play Store fixes so more applications are visible/compatible
- updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
- Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
- Android 4.2 AOSP stock launcher from here
- increased space for applications (/data partition) to 2 Gb
Download:Â kasty-fnf_ifive_mini2-411-135-rooted4.zip
Use Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.5 to flash the firmware, don't flash using the "sdcard" method.
Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have an iFive mini2 to test it.

You can refer to the follow links that explain how flashing tablets work, the procedure should be similar on your Mini2:

Just wanted to add to the list. Â I am another user who has successfully installed this v1.35 and is using it.
Install was simple using his instructions. Â I previously had updated the firmware to ifive v1.35 then I updated to this rooted version. Â Not sure if things would have gone differently if I hadn't...just wanted to note it.
Noticed effects so far:
- It gets rid of the nasty Chinese weather app on the home screen (but there is still one on the lock screen)
- Also gets rid of the silly launcher that took up most of the home screen with 6 buttons. Â You now see just the Android home screen and you can fill it with the icons that you want.
- Things run a bit faster
- WiFi is a lot stronger.....but still not great. As I sit here my Android 4 cell phone will connect to my home WiFi consistently but the tablet is intermittent. Â (This may be due more to the upgrade from the original firmware to the ifive v1.35, even without the root. Â The WiFi connectivity of the v2.xx firmware sucked, absolutely laughable.)
- SuperSU and ArcTools are added
Don't forget that upgrading to this firmware totally blows away your personal data (like files, pictures, contacts, etc) so BACK IT UP before you upgrade so you can restore it afterwards.
