I just want to make sure if my guess is correct.
- Click the Browse button or the box with 3 dots(...)

- A dialogbox will show up.

- Open up kasty-fnf_ifive_mini2-411-134-rooted2, whic is already extracted.

- Click "update" under kasty-fnf_ifive_mini2-411-134-rooted2 file/folder.

- Click "open" button.

- Lastly hit the "Restore" button.

Is this correct?

By the way I do really appreciate your help.
Hope I can get a reply from you sooner.

1) Get the tablet in flashing mode
2) Download the firmware
3)Unpack the firmware which is packed in a rar archive, the actual file, is named usually "update" with the termination .img, so therefore "update.img" is the firmware
4)Open rockchip flashing tool
5)Check if you have the green box there
6)Select the update.img
7) Hit the restore button.
8)Enjoy

Great! Glad to hear it.

I'm using the ROM posted in this thread. I don't know of any others.

Why do you want to root a rom which is already rooted ?
If you used the rom that is in this topic, it is already rooted, no other things needs to be done to obtain something that is already there

I get the same distorted image briefly after the FNF logo, but then it boots normally. Try reflashing the img file. Also try downloading the image again and extracting it again before flashing with the flash tool

I think there's a problem with this customer firmware. I am still having the distorted image. I redownload the .img file, extract it and flash it to my ifive mini2 and it still have the distorted image.

Do you definitely have a Mini 2 tablet? There is the Mini, which is a slightly different model, but looks the same.

You could also try using the upgrade button in the flash tool.

The distorted image is normal during boot, but it should go away after a few seconds and boot into Android.

Also try flashing back to the factory ROM as posted earlier in this thread.

YAh, I do have fnf ifive mini2. In settings under About Tablet it shows ifive MINI 2.

Ok, I will try upgrade button.
Actually the distorted image only shows every time I boot up the tablet. The rest of the customer ROM I flashed is ok. It just that it doesn't feel good to see that distorted image every time I boot up my tablet.

When I flash the factory ROM, it doesn't shows the distorted image anymore. But when i flash the custom ROM It showed the distorted image again.

Thanks for reporting the problem, the distorted image is probably an issue with the boot logo in the custom firmware, I'll have a look to fix that.

Cheers.

Hello admin

Your custom firmware works great (i have also the boot logo issue as  jays021's)

But I have discovered a bug with the Mini2 using the original firmware and the modded one (because the modded firmware is based on the official)

Sometimes when there is an active connection using bluetooth (stereo headphones, phone sms to tablet, file transfer etc.), the Mini2 will hang up and restart, and what's left is a terrible bootloop...

It seems bluetooth apk is easily corrupted which causes the bootloop.... the only way to fix it wax flashing again the official or modded firmware...

I hope you can find a way to fix it

If it is impossible, I hope that the next modded rom:

1. Upon flashing will NOT WIPE (format) the built-n 16GB storage, so that when the bootloop happens again,I can flash again the firmware without  wiping (formatting) the built in storage.

2. Or have CWM recovery

Thank you in advance :)

I have redone the custom firmware for the iFive Mini2, it will hopefully fix the boot logo resolution issue, the new file update is linked in post #1, please let me know if works better now.

About CWM Recovery, I'm working on an easy way to add it on iFive tablets, I'll post later when I have something ready to test.

Cheers.
