My daughters Cube U9GT V has Cube U9GT5 Rooted firmware from VISTURE V4 HD (2013/01/24) installed. All seemed to be working OK until recently, the only problem it had was a band of pixels on the visture boot screen.ConfusedSurprisedYell

But now the tablet will not power on at all, when connected via USB to a laptop and the power button pressed you get a quick flash of device connected, but this is only for about 1 second.

There is nothing displayed on the tablet screen at all.

Any help would be appreciated.Smile

There is one problem, before I do any flashing, she asked me to backup all her app data.

Also the Esc and Volume buttons are depressed below the surface, so if anyone knows how to open the U9GTV, I will attempt to re-position them.

Yes, I left it charging overnight.

I have opened up the tablet and re-positioned the Esc and Volume + - buttons.

Run Rockchip Batch Tool v1.5, this shows tablet as connected, with a green box.

But still no display.Frown

Have a flashed a firmware with Rockchip Batch tool ?

You can flash the one linked below, which is a compatible firmware that also works on the Cube U9GT5 (RK3066):

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/cube-u9gt5/cube-u9gt5-rooted-firmware-from-visture-v5-hd-20130412/

Don't forget to use Restore button in the tool to flash properly.

I would have tried that first admin.

But the problem is my daughter has about 4 months of app data as well as photos.

I remember seeing the boot recovery screen yesterday and I simply selected reboot option, but when it did reboot it froze at visture boot screen, so I held the power button until it powered off.

Since then nothing.

Is there a set of button presses to get to recovery screen again.

Here are steps I followed,

1) Run Rockchip Batch Tool v1.5

2) Put power adapter in laptop, Hold Volume + then Power button + connect to PC.

3) Green square visible in connected devices on RKBT v1.5

4) Selected FW kasty-cube_u9gt5-based_visture_v5hd_97r_20130412-411-rooted3

5) Everything completed successfully.Cool

Screen still black ?

If you have one of the iphone opening kits, use the plectrum or other thin wedge and insert between metal back and plastic screen bezel. Work your way around case and it should start to lift. Once it is apart enough ease open with your fingers. Just be careful with the volume and power buttons when putting back together.

Regards

Phil
