Here it is the first oficial firmware for CUBE U9GT5 Quad Core RK3188 (THIS IS NOT FOR RK3066 - case sensitive).
Hope some good soul around here can have the time to perform a custom rom from this one.

MEGA: https://mega.co.nz/#!XEc2UJ6J!QfxVMUZGqFaCwzHHF8v8OhPqogR-CtcfjI9dHT58LsA
GDrive: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4rhoa67mZl2TFMxUWI2a01jU00/edit?usp=sharing

4shared: http://www.4shared.com/zip/dF2maPoC/...Quad_Core.html

Now if you need to ROOT this tablet, you can do it using two ways:

1 - using Zhuodashi (i used this one - the same way like the previous rk3066)

or

2 - (I did not tested this method, but they said its working - use it at your own risk)

Enjoy it

I'll download it from the original place (51cube.net) and see what I can do.

Probably not, it's either a bad tablet PCB/case design or a WIFI firmware issue.

I've been tweaking my Cube because it's so slow and find that 2 options have a visible difference.

1. Force GPU Rendering - enable this in Developer options

2. Don't allow CPU to be in energy save mode.

I'm using ROM Toolbox Lite: go to Performance - CPU Control - choose PERFORMANCE as CPU Governor and DEADLINE or NOOP for IO Scheduler. This will eat your battery quicker, but your tablet will be faster (until we get proper firmware).

If you want to keep balance between battery and speed, choose INTERACTIVE governor but set minimal CPU frequency to 816 or 1008MHz by lower slider.

Now I can use my tablet normally. I can type SwiftKey etc (lag was too big to use this keyboard before these tweaks).

Thanks for the tipcs Davka, I'll try that on other Android tablets as well.

Have you made any benchmarks regarding the battery life after changing the settings in Rom Toolbox Lite ?

Cheers.

No I have not, I just feel the battery goes off faster in normal use.

But battery capacity is so big I don't bother. It works long enough :)

Thanks for the info Davka!

I tried the options. Will see if it helps. Although from the looks of it not much of help.

By the way I'm running a GlassROM developed by dark from freaktab.com. Seems the best available. For now I've underclocked my CPU to 816Mhz. I think this suffices my needs. I will run it at max when and if we get a ROM which will have better performance.

Thanks

Gaurav

I think Glass ROM has tweak 1. implemented already. These tweaks results are most visible in stock ROMs.
