Has anyone heard of the FCC ID being available for the Cube U9GT4's wireless? The U9GT4 is a great looking tablet, and I'd like to order one from Aliexpress but it seems that people report that U.S. Customs has seized certain brands of tablets because those tablets' wireless units were not registered with the FCC.
Yes, it's true that the FCC allows an exception for up to three devices for personal use, but that exception apparently won't excuse the hapless purchaser from paying a fee to U.S. Customs to have the item released after they seize it. The fee is 15% of the value of the item, with a minimum of $100.
If the agents who seize the tablet know that the item costs less than $100, then they could guess that the intended recipient probably won't spend time to fill the paperwork and spend $100 to have the tablet released. It's anyone's guess about what they do with seized tablets that are never claimed.
To avoid the trouble, it appears that the FCC documentation (form 740) must be sent with the tablet. FedEx says the form is required:
Is the FCC ID available for this model Cube so that FCC form 740 can be filled and sent with the shipment?
Thank you for your advice!
