I just found one bug in this version : the contacts app (or people) doesn't work. Applications crash when trying to access it (Gmail, Talk,...)

Contacts worked fine on FW 1.03.

I rebuilt contacts.apk and contactsProvider.apk from aokp 4.1.1 in order to make them run on u23gt and u9gt3. It allows Google Talk to run on the tablet, adds contacts in Gmail...

Hi! All windows computers refuse to connect to my tablet. It starts installing drivers, but fails after categorizing it as composite device or mass storage. Only once have I been able to get it recognized as u9gt3 in other devices, right after installing android sdk, but I think it's a mere coincidence.

51Cube's site is down, so I can't even get proper drivers manually. Could someone give me a copy for win7 x64?
I hope its not my usb that is fried (otg works for input devices, didn''t test any other)

I hardly try to connect the u9gt3 to my computer in flash mode and finally I got it. I turned off the tablet, then I connect it with the USB to the computer, after that you must power on the tablet pushing power button and the left volume button at the same time for a while (the screen stays in black), then the computer recognizes a device and when it is tired of searching drivers you can use the drivers included in the zip with "rockchip batch tool 1.5" of the first page. I have windows 7 64bits and the drivers in Rockusbdriver/amd64/win7/ worked for me.

In the other hand I'm begging for the official firmwares of the U9GT3 because the 51cube's website is down. Please, could someone upload them?

 Sorry for my poor english

I received my U9GT3 yesterday and i'm looking for update to this new FW.

Is it possible to backup the default FW with rockchip tool?

Which option between "upgrade" and "restore" than I need to use ?

Thanks!!

Always use "Restore" option when flashing a firmware.

A firmware backup isn't an easy thing to do with the stock firmware, but you shouldn't worry about it, as the manufacturer offers firmware downloads on http://www.51cube.net/

I hope to have better speed on wifi with this version..

Just did a test with default FW and I got 2 Mbps on Download.. On my PC I get 21 Mbps (802.11G)..

Maybe I have a defective wifi module? What kind of speed you get on wifi?

Wifi speed, I have no idea, as I said in post #1, I don't have a U9GT3 tablet.

Cheers.

Nope, wifi is terrible on the cube. I've to stand next to my router to get a decent speed. My N70HD has a superb wifi module.

Just installed the 1.05 firmware on my U9GT3, and it works like a dream!  No more ugly "cube" theme on the desktop or useless Chinese apps, too.  Thanks for the great work!

Root functions doesn't work in ES Explorer with this firmware (same with the U23GT rooted firmware).

I had to remove SuperSU and to install Superuser.apk instead.

But once this is done, the firmware works really smoothly.

There's a bunch of useless apks you can remove from /system/app using a file explorer with root permissions :

- Bluetooth (no bluetooth...)

- Galaxy4 (game)

- GmsCore (?)

And personaly I also shall remove theses :

- LiveWallpaper and its relatives : LiveWallpaperPicker, PhaseBeam, HoloSpiral, MagicSmoke

- RkApkInstaller, RkExplorer, RKUpdateService

To get rid of the boot animation you can also remove /system/media/bootanimation.zip.

Did you opened Supersu first before you used root explorer, or just removed it and installed Superuser?
Anyway the root whas there considering that you where able to get root acces after you installed Superuser.

Actually, no I didn't open SuperSU first. Just noticed that the root permissions didn't work.

In the future open Supersu first, and the apps that require root, will work proper.
