Thanks for the custom firmware. Tested works great. came in handy when i bricked my u39gt and googled to find this firmware.
below have nothing to do with your firmware. just some things i have done/noticed on my tab
note to u39gt owners out there.
...front screen is simply held in with plastic pop outs. 4 on each long side . 3 on short sides. Â be careful not to crack your glass. the longsides and bottom pop out first. then screen/boards/battery slide out. power and volume rockers stay on the screen not the aluminum case.
...aluminum backing is the culprit in bad wifi signal. i replaced wifi antenna anyway. with back cover off it compared to my note 2- great wifi. with the back cover on it was crap but manageable with the new antenna. hoping someone manufactures a plastic back for this tablet. wifi signal with back on has improved but still doesn't compete with other brand names.Â
...internal speakers is actually 1 speaker. and in my opinion its located in a bad part of the case. u39gt have 2 speaker ports -from manufacturer it's placed where your right palm would be blocking it. there is enough cabling to relocate it to the other port.Â
...a/c charger and tab together creates a weird short..(USA a/c adapter) i have to make sure my hand touches the tablet's aluminum back while plugged in to use the touchscreen. if the tab is laying down (without holding it) and plugged in the touchscreen gets all crazy when pressing screen with your finger.

To start with I managed to fix the problem which you can read more about further down this post.
I can't get the drivers installed. I shutdown the tablet, then i push power + volume up and connect USB to my computer which runs Windows 8. Then i go to the control panel and there i try to update the drivers manually, but it just says that it does not recognize the device. So any help with the install procedure would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!Â
UPDATE! Eventually i got it to work. I connected the USB to the ports on the back on my desktop machine instead of the ones that are located in the front. I guess those in the front are connected internally like a hub and therefor messed things up when i tried to update my U39GT. So once i got the cable moved to the back the upgrade whent flawlessly.Â

This is very nice and gives us root and many options.
But there's a serious stability issue, since upgrading I had tablet stuck every time I access Google services (initial google login, market, gmail).
The screen gets frozen and I have to cycle power (long press on power button).
This is rather unfortunate hoping CM rom will be available soon (hw should be similar to u30GT2)

What are the steps to flash?
If you download the stock firmware and unpack you will find a somewhat useful instruction in that package. http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php/2013/08/22/cube-u39gt-9-inch-android-4-2-rk3188-quad-core-stock-firmware-release/#.UkXYv4Z7ISU
Does the custom firmware from post #1 have the Win8UI ? I thought I had any stock Android launcher removed.
Cheers.

When i did the update with the custom firmware i got the Win8UI. So i installed Nova Launcher:Â https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
But it would be great if the firmware was pure stock Android without the Win8UI.
Cheers!
I have updated the firmware from post #1 where all Win8 like user interface should now be removed.
