The only problem with the Wifi that I found is that the back metal plate is connected to the ground of the antenna...
Â
Why after isolating the antenna, it is still making contact ? because the contact is not on the antenna but somewhere else....
Â
Near the camera on the side of the motherboard, there is a metal surface and when you fix the back plate, it's making contact....so just isolate this metal surface on mother board and remount the U30Gt2
Â
problem was solved for me

hi folks, now i have hd streaming in my bedroom. Know what i did, i used a map with some aluminium foil to shield the wifi signal and direct it back into the room. Seems it helps, since i can walk through the house with the cube without loosing the video signal. So now i can stream all through the house and watch nice movies.
The following users say thank you to Mark06 for this useful post:

Mark I wanted to try this, can you post for us a picture of what you did? I don't understand what you mean by "i used a map with some aluminium foil to shield the wifi signal and direct it back into the room."

a ring binder, with aluminium taped to it. It stands easy and reflects the microwaves generated by the access point back into the room. Now i have like three routers connected by utp giving signal.

By the way you should really try the wifi analyzer app to setup your router.

I had been having trouble for years with my tablet's Wifi too. Even though it only gets used as a bathroom tool now, because the bathroom is right next to the computer room, I stumbled upon this fix. I had already upgraded to 4.2 a couple of years ago, and it helped a bit, but knowing I had nothing to lose I thought I'd try it. My wifi on a good day next to the router is around 5mbs, but if I go to the kitchen about 20 feet down the hall, it drops to anywhere from 0-.9 not good. First off, I just removed the metal band around the outside and it went to 2.2.........amazing! What the heck lets rip her apart! I'd already taken it apart to replace the batteries, so it was no big deal. I removed the back cover and seeing the antenna was underneath the steel frame, I removed that too. This revealed the antenna was taped down to the mainboard with what looked like metalized woven tape, doesn't really make sense to me? I removed the tape and replaced it with electrical tape, making sure to cover right over to where the coax is soldered to it. I also put some tape around the coax where it goes under the metal frame. That's it, I put it back together without the steel band and tested it. Amazing results, I now get the same mbs in the kitchen as I do right next to the router! Thanx for the info!
Another thing is now that you have removed the steel band, the spots where the pins on the band went into the case should be replaced by some new screws to make it more solid. I didn't have any tiny screws on hand, but I found some on ebay that should work. The pins measure about 1.4x3mm, so look for something a bit bigger, like 1.7x4mm or even 2x4mm or a bit longer shouldn't hurt. I also found that a 4mm tie wrap or cable tie fits perfectly in the groove, I'm looking to see if I can find one long enough to go right around. Then I'll just use the new screws and existing ones to attach it.
