So to pick up the short conversation from yesterday that firt croped up on the New Darthjabba 2.06 rom with oc/non-oc 38 kernel forum, admin expressed interest in perhaps changing/updating/upgrading their Arctools logo that appears when our tablets first boot-up. One of our members displayed an updated logo he wanted to change out for the current logo and has someone who can do the artwork.

So some others expressed that they were liking that logo, others that they liked perhaps a combination, and still others wanted to leave it as it is now. If you have flashed a Kasty rom you know the logo in question, and if you want to look at the proposed one you can look at it by looking through the Darthjabba 2.06 38 kerner update forum. If you have another interesting option for a logo, ti would be nice to look at.

So in this forum, for a short time, perhaps we can come together and make a few suggestions for Admin and the rest of us to perhaps consider and suggest for adoption. This is yet another example of how the folks here on Arctablet care for and extend the welcoming mat to all of us here now and those that will come later. So if you would, please lets have that discussion, and lets keep it civil. We are talking about a logo that will represent, yet will only appear for a few seconds on our tablets and possibly phones when we power up our machines, not just the U30gt2 aka The Cube.

If I might suggest, take a look at Android Police web site, the have had an on-going contest that shows submissions by their members for artwork for fun and prices.

I don't want to suggest any major rules other than lets keep it on topic and no museum pieces, its only going to appear for a few seconds anyway...unless you get hung up on it with a bad rom flashing. :-p

Of course the good folks at arctablet are under no obligation to accept any submission that they don't agree with or does not represent their mission.

So lets have at it!

My two cents. First I like the welcome screen with the Cubes for the obvious reason, they are Cubes! As to the logo I would like to see a combo of the current and the one posted here.  http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/cube-u30gt2/rom-cube-u30gt2-android-4-2-2-custom-root-firmware-version-2-06-final-20131029/page-4/  by Oyee.

admin edit: here is Oyee image:

Of course if someone has a abetter one all bets and my vote is up for grabs.

Hello Maikal,

Thank you for taking care of that boot logo project Wink Actually the boot logo won't be limited to the U30GT2 as I'd like to deploy it to our custom firmwares for all other tablets as well. We'll eventually make this post more visible if there is interest from the community on this subject.

BTW, I've edited your post #2 to include Oyeee picture and removed your post #3. Also, you can link a specific post in a topic getting its url by using the permalink address sp_Permalink.pngon top of each post. About including pictures in a post you can use the Picture icon in the post editor toolbar or use the upload feature if needed.

Cheers.

So about this logo, doesn't really matters to me... I like it simple and discreet.
I also like a mix between the original logo of the brand and the one of Arctablet. (just like it is now)
About Oyee's image I would even remove the "Optimized by" (sounds to "geek" to me...)
"That's all folks" ;)

I think we can have 2 types of logos:

1) One for the ROM`s built from source by arctablet.
2) One for the ROM`s optimized by arctablet.

Just want to express my opinion that I like the new logo better. Not that the current one bothers me a lot, but the proposed one is more pleasing to my eye. :)

Guys,

Took me a while to get in touch with the person who created the boot logo.

I'm checking a few adjustments on the picture and will come back with an update to submit to you.

Cheers.

Quick update as I recently received an updated version of the boot logo shown in post #2 from Graphys.

Still needs a few tweaks and resizing for the different tablets boot resolution and it will be deployed in the coming custom firmwares.

Thanks to Oyee, Graphys, maikal and everyone who participated in that little project.

Cheers.
