Hi, after doing a few tests, the 1100 battery gives a better video life.  With the 1200mAh one, around 8 hrs (better than stock), 1100 mAh around 9 to 11(estimate for the 11). My kids gave it a workout with the 1100 battery. This is on the stock 4.42, 305 kernel. However the 1100 is a tight fit so be prepared to play around with making sure that there is no pressure on the back of the touch screen or you will get some "smearing" on the screen.

Happy soldering!Smile

Ok. 5 days of testing.

- reason for change of battery = Tablet cut out randomly and lasted 30mins at best unplugged. Old battery obviously expired (however all apps said battery health good. What's that about?).

- new battery = 13000mah 7.4v bought from aliexpress. See link on previous post.

- DJ 4.4.2 overclocked via ROM defaults

- battery calibrated

- screen dimmest setting

- WiFi on, Bluetooth off

I've not done any standard tests. This is what I found via general usage.

Surfing internet and reading ebooks = 11 hours

Watching movies via NAS or internet streaming = 2.5 jackie chan movies worth (around 4.5 hours).

Standby = 10% in 24hours

Installation - easy fit. Not tight.

Conclusion - happy with the purchase. Cheap battery. Performance far better than the original battery ever was. Took a month to arrive in the post!

Hi andyffoo, frankk and others,

I would like to ask you what is the life of the new battery now, month(s) later. How long does it last?

Thank you.

Hi,

My u30gt2 doesnt boot..

I have checked the voltages..

each battery is 4.15 volt..

and total voltage on the pcb is 8.3 volt....

is that values are normal?

It should be 7.4 volt on each battery and 12 volt ont the total (on the pcb)

what is your values?

So I have ordered and fitted a new battery to find out usage and standby times are basically same as with an old battery. That is - less than 3 hrs from 5% to "full charge 100%". About 2 hrs to discharge from "full charge 100%", under higher stress (720p movie playback via WiFi). Not even remotely good.

Either both old (1 year of wear) and brand new batteries have very similiar operational parameters, or there's something seriously rotten in Android 4.4.x / Cube  power management (whoever is responsible for battery management). I guess the latter is more likely. Going to try Android 4.2.2 downgrade to see how it copes with my new battery. Perhaps I actually didn't need battery replacement at all and it was all Android 4.4.2 at fault. Picture me not impressed. Android DIY crap will never stop to surprise me. Flawed by design.

Hi all, took the plunge and got a new battery off of aliexpress, it was a 12000 mah one.

My old battery was only lasting 10 to 15 minutes off of the power point, which was quite frankly useless.

I have had the new one in for about a week now and its going great

I was on 4.4 but I downgraded to darthjabba's 4.2, it may not be quite as quick but its far easier on the battery

Hi,

i am glad it worked for you.

Somehow I can't seem to get any decent battery life. Downgrading to 4.2.2 improved the situation slightly but still nowhere near 5-6-7-8h mark. 2.5 hrs max under load, that's it. Standby is rather erratic too, drops from 99% to 8x% in like first 20-30 mins of standby. After that the drop of % indicator is much less steep but still higher than desired. Placebo battery calibration improves nothing. Full charge/discharge cycles improves nothing either.

I don't know. Maybe I just got spoiled by more power efficient Baytrail-T Windows tablet.Smile

I suspect that a large part of the problem is poor quality control. It seems to be a lottery whether you get a dud battery or a good battery. My battery was perfectly fine while the tablet was alive, but, from what we can see here, this is not the experience of many people. I don't think that this is an Android problem, else every  Android device would have the same problem, which is clearly not the case.

Random observation.

My new battery is still working like a charm.

Left my old battery in a draw and when I put it in the recycle bin 2 weeks later it had blown up like a balloon and looked like it was about to burst!

are you using the same charging cord? I just found my tablet bulging in back and front. It was not like that last week. After two years of use I guess I should have kept on eye out for this since reading some other posts. I went ahead and ordered since you seem not to have had a problem as of your last post.
