@bigHz, did you remove the over-charge/discharge pcb? I removed it and just wired the batteries in series. The tablet has it's own protection circuit so it isn't needed. My tablet has been working great ever since I installed the new battery.

Rob

Thanks Rob for the prompt response. No I did not remove the wired in pcb as i thought the original battery set has the protection board on it as well. It works fine with the wired protection pcb but not happy with the 4.1v reading. If the external power source is 12v, the main board is 8.2v (where the batteries' red & black wires connect to), then the fully charged battery must be at least the specified voltage of 7.4v. If after removing it shows 7.4v then i will remove the pcb (i did wonders why you remove the pcb in your previous posting). Can you confirm if your tablet is reading 7.4v with the battery widget?

I use GSam battery monitor which reports the battery as a percentage value so I don't know what the level is in volts.

I have used the Antutu battery test and that shows the voltage but I can't remember what is was reading. I have a sneaky feeling it was 4. something though.

Regardless of the voltage shown, the battery keeps going for over 8 hours so as far as I am concerned it's a winner.

Yes I agreed, 8 hrs is a very good time. Mine is going at 7 (with 15%) I am just frustrated why the discrepancy and not charged to its full potential? The batteries set (with the protection pcb) before installation was around 7.8v yet after installation and fully charged only shows 4.1v. I suppose i could have opened it up again to check for reality. At first I was wondering if wrong chip was used on the protection board. Then if yours is showing 4 then the error is somewhere else. Thanks you for sharing.

Are these U30GT2  that bad..?

I have a U30GT  and its the worse thing that I have ever brought, the symptoms that people complain about here seem to be very similar to my U30GT.

Hang ups not responding, missing icons, auto reboots and have to try 20 times or more to connect to mass storage, tried some 6 or more Firmware, seems ok at first till it gets loaded.

To day some 3 times but was only listing a few files on my Ext SD Card..

Tried the mass storage on another computers but its just the same, the USB connection shows up.

When I can run a APP its 100% OK no lockups or crashes at all.

Lots of problems with the Setting as well, mostly hang ups and not responding.

I thought that all these thing would have been fixed with the U30GT2 as I was thinking of upgrading to one.

Is there a better tablet out there.?

Then I read comments that Andriod is full of Bugs.?

Thanks.

These are software issues. If you can find a good custom firmware, then those problems would go. Of course the firmware should be excellent out of the box, but, unfortunately, it very often is not.

Generally I am very pleased with my Cube.

However, I have a USB problem, connecting the OTG cable and into my PC all works fine.

BUT connecting a Mouse, keyboard or USB storage stick and I get nothing.

The Mouse, keyboard & USB storage stickall work fine on my other Tablet A Zoostorm 7", so there is nothing wrong with them.

Is my Cube faulty or am I missing a setting or someting like a firmware update.

Hi ncmoody,

I had a similar problem when trying to connect a usb memory stick and 3g modem. My problem was that the USB cable was not actually an OTG cable. (See this article… http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/36887/how-can-i-determine-if-my-device-has-usb-host-mode-otg-support) When I got the right cable… all started working flawlessly. Might you be having the same problem?

Thank you for your suggestion.

I have retested all my cables and peripherals with my Zoostorm tablet and all are working fine.

They are not working on the Cube. The mouse and Memory stick do not light up (which they do when plugged into the Zoostorm.

It is looking increasing like a hardware defect.

Does someone have the problem, that the CPU isn't soldered properly? When its getting hot while gaming for example, the screen get black, but i can hear the sound of the games, so it seems, that the soldering of the graphic pins are bad. Are there replacement PCBs available?
