guess you just need the windows 7 64 bit drivers included with the rockchip batch tool. Then put the tab off, hold volume down in, put the tab on and insert usb cable in tab. The rockbatch tool should now lighten up green.

This Rom is the best one i found. There was another one which has sound failtures.
I have only a little problem which the touchscreen when the Tab is connected to the charger but the compatibility is the most important for me. 🙂I used the Rockchip Batch Tool like the picture in post 205.
- install USB Driver
- with tablet OFF, I connect the Tablet to PC
- run rookchip batchtool 1.6
- press VOLUME UP + POWER, then release buttons to make the tablet to be detected by the batchtool
- flash the image by pressing UpgradeIt's also important that you have the right Bootloader installed.
But i dont know exactly what Version is the best one 🙁
If something is needed, i have all files on my PC 🙂
Thank you. Yes I want to try it on a cube I picked up last year, It's still on the last 4.2.2 Kasty before the kit kat Kasty came out. So it should have the non-kitkat bootloader. I still have my orogonal Cube, but it's inner screen is failing (bloated battery). I pull it out once in a while to see if it's still working, hoping to someday try out the Lollipop rom Oma and his team have or had been working on. So I may look into this rom and try out in my older tablet first. Once I figure which booloader it needs.

Good to see you still lurking around. I keep an older Toshiba laptop on hand for flashing since it appears these flashing tool are not being upgraded or newer tools are being developed for newer tablets. Sad, this tablet is still pretty strong for my needs.

it's the kernel (maybe with bootloader in it), like jelly bean kernel: 4.1, 4.2, 5.0 and kitkat kernel:4.4.
Only with switching between android previous to 5 to 5 you need to be more alert with the kernel, otherways you get flash problems, which will definately take more time to fix. So you can just select the .img file in rockbatch tool and flash it to the cube in 'download mode' (volume up while pressing power button, hold volume button up pressed while inserting the usb cable to pc).

Mark I picked up a Vido M10 also earlier this year very cheap on ebay, for less than $100US, pretty much same specs as the u30gt2 but w/16gb. That one is on Kasty kit kat. Looks and behaves great, I would say even better than the U30gt2 on the Kasty rom. As to the U65gt, I just looked at it on ebay, very nice but I'm stuck on the 10 inch tablets. I also picked up a Surface RT and it's my daily use, though I'm trying to sell it to finance a newer Surface tablet. But all in all I love my Cube and Vido tabs.

I will try that. Thanks again for sticking around.

you can flash a zip file with the overclocked kernel on the cube. Then it runs at 1.8ghz. Should be bout the same speed as the vido M10 then.

Yes, I did that on the older Cube I got. It was pretty good, but I think that tablet batch could not stand it. I was one of the guinea pigs for DarthJabba's overclocked kernels. Lol tried them all until I did settle on one slightly overclocked. I think trying all those was what damaged my battery in my first cube. I did buy new batteries, there is a few posts on it, But the damage to the screen was already done by the bloated battery. Still no regrets with the experimenting, it's what helped us all get hose kernels and new roms going. Like I said since I still have the older Cube and screen is still usable even with the lines across it, I will use it to experiment a little more with the Kitkat roms, including this funrom. But it has to wait a little, I'm in the middle of a room remodeling and will only have access to my tablets for a little bit of time to peruse these pages.

Yes I got the repository also...lol I remember it well, like I said I was one of the guinea pigs to try them all. To bad Darth Jabba's Cube was destroyed pretty much when he dropped it I think. I certainly was a fan of his and was hoping he would take us to the promise land...lol He did great work for the Cube and for all of us.

Maikal, there also is a rom from dartjabba from januari 2014 that's really fast. It's just it has got some bugs with the screen watching facebook movies. But it's a real fast rom for the cube, doubt that it's 20 seconds boot time though like the vido m10.

Here is an Android 4.4.2 KitKat rooted firmware for the Cube U30GT2 tablet . This custom firmware is based on Chinese KitKat Funrom_Studio firmware dated 2014/06/06.(Funrom_Studio-CUBE_U30GT2_4.4.2_V1_140606.img)![]()
Build information:
Kernel: Linux version 3.0.36+ (tangy@tchipserver2) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #95 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 4 15:50:58 CST 2014
Android 4.4.2: CUBE/u30gt2/rk3188:4.4.2/KOT49H/eng.root.20140211.100632:eng/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst-keys
ro.rksdk.version=RK31_ANDROID$(PLATFORM_VERSION)-SDK-v1.00.00RK3188Loader(L)_V2.10.binAs you can read, this firmware seems to be mostly a kernel update as the Android system is still one from February 2014.Custom firmware features:
- root with latest SuperSU version 1.99r3 (free version)
- removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
- Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
- updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
- Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
- changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
- increased space for applications (/data partition) to 7 GB
- disabled OTA updates (may cause problems, see Notes below)
- added Google Experience Launcher (GEL) in addition to Cube's stock launcher
- kernel modules (cifs, tun, lan, serial, xpad) compiled by Oma & Crew RKTablets, thank guys!
- optional ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install package (apparently reported to be not compatible with this firmware)
- multi-user support thanks to didierm contribution
- update 2014/06/11: replaced stock Asian keyboard by Hacker's Keyboard application
Notes:
- any update received thru OTA may interfere with our custom firmware, we recommend to refuse any update pushed OTA.
- current KitKat based firmwares should be considered as beta softwareDownload: kasty-cube_u30gt2-442-funromstudio_20140606-rooted7c_mu.zip
Flash with Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.7, use Restore button.
If you like our work, please support us to keep the site alive and contribute to our efforts.
Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have anymore a Cube U30GT2 tablet to test the custom firmware.
Dear Members,
Can i flash this rom over JB 4.2.2 supersport ROM v.1.1 ?
Thanx for help
