Hello guys, I'm new to the forum and I need some help.
I bought U30GT2 but received the "U30GT 2MH".
After some research I discovered that apparently the hardware is the same but the firmwares are different.
Some users had problems after updating the ROM, so I did not repeat the mistake.

I had a little trouble to installing the rockchip usb driver W7 to rooted. After trying several usb drives, I got from an installation I found on the web.
As the official usb driver of rockship did not work, this caused me some suspicion about the hardware. I want to be wrong.

These are screenshots of a hardware info app and the device information. Can someone tell me if this is the RK3188 processor?

I have not yet paid to the seller, I need to know if something is wrong.

Appreciate any help. Thank you and sorry for poor english

It' could be interesting to test this solution but it's impossible to charge the u30gt2 without start it maybe in recovery mode ?

With this Rom my tablet would charge whilst turned off

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/downloads/firmware/Cube/kasty-cube_u30gt2-422-206_20131029-rooted4.zip

When i plugged in the charger the tablet would start up as normal but i was able to then turn it off and it would carry on charging whilst turned off.

I'm now not able to do that on my current KitKat rom.

Thanks for this link !

Have you problem to charge your tablet and problem of autonomi ?

What's the performence betwin the oma's rom and this rom ?

I don't if it's possible to install this rom after install the amo's rom ?

You need a full diagnostic that shows all the hardware details. AnTuTu Benchmark can provide such information.

Thank you DarthJabba.

I'll install the app so I'm home and will make a screenshot.

Thanks

Hello DarthJabba,

These are the screenshots of AnTuTu.

You can tell me if the hardware is the U30GT2?

If anyone else can compare to tell me will be a great help.

Thank you all

It all looks fine as far as the big picture is concerned - but unfortunately there are things that it doesn't tell us (i.e., all the smaller internal hardware components). Clearly, it claims to be some kind of U30GT2. But they have added "MH" to the model name. Assuming that this is not just a redundant addition, then there must be something different. The differences may be catered for in the kernel. If so, this would mean that you would need the stock kernel even if you flashed other ROM components.

My advice - unless your stock ROM is completely unusable, you would do well to avoid changing your ROM. The risk of some new incompatible hardware is too great.

Hi Thiago!

I own a U30-GT2-MH too. I upgraded the stock FW (Android 4.2) to Cube v2.06 20131029 Kasty ROM. With this ROM absolutely unusable. Extreme laggy, especially when updating apps in background, bad wifi, crashes, etc. I wanted to sell it already, but:

Then i went to 4.4.2 KitKat custom root firmware (2014/02/19) a while ago. So far absolutely no issues. Battery lasts almost a week, wifi is better than ever. Absolutely no crashes, hangs, etc. Lags are gone.Laugh

In my opinion the performance for a quad core tablet with this HW is still pretty poor compared e.g. to a old galaxy tab with dual core A9 and less memory. But i can live with that, especially for that price.

So i will stay on the KitKat 2014/02/19 until there is maybe a official Kitkat from Cube which i don't belive that it will ever arrive.Frown

If we want a official kitkat rom from cube we need to ask constantly in the cube web site if not a official kitkat rom from cube never show up, and be more participate in the cube forum to show how many clients they have and want a kitkat rom in the cube.

Thanks for the help friend. I might try an upgrade in the future, but before I will make a backup of the current FW. For now I am trying a small refund. Because the seller could have informed the true model in the advert.
thank you again..

Hi sithyoda,

I'm glad to know that someone with the same model could update this FW without problems. Many thanks for sharing information.
I'm with the same problems: lag, low wifi signal.
I have some doubts and concerns to upgrade the FW because I dont have these skills yet ... You said you updated the ROM first? Could you explain me better?
The original version of my device is v1.0 20131128. The kernel is 3.0.36+.
I do not know exactly the steps you have to follow to be able to do some running CF 4.4.2.

I'm scared because I saw that other users that had problems .. If you can help me thank you very much.
Thanks again

Just follow hints on 1st site:

Flash with Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.7, use Restore button. There is a short howto comming along with the tool that should explain everything.

Links to howto video clips are available too in this forum.

I have yet to find a rom that works with Miracast and U30GT2.  I find that it either reboots or produces a green screen on what I am casting too.  ChromeCast works fine but then I am not really casting my display to another screen.  If anyone does know of a fix for Miracast, I would also be interested.
