What rom ????

What CWM ???

What started rom ???

My own personal mod of Kasty's KitKat 4.4.2 ROM - the very one that this thread is talking about, and the CWM that I talked about earlier in this thread that works with KitKat.

Attached are two CWM kernel update packages for the Kasty KitKat 4.4.2 ROM.

The first one is the overclocked T14 package, and the second is the stock kernel (in case you need to go back to stock kernel).

Just a few more notes on the rom...
1) Camera flash don't work. Can anyone check?
2) Removing TelephonyProvider.apk doesn't help much. Still draining pretty fast. When doing some ordinary stuff (not 3D gaming), I can literaly see percentage drop every few minutes.
3) Regarding "false battery indicator" theory, when it drops to 0%, OS shutdowns automaticaly, so there's no way to check how much would it go further. It obviously relies on percentage number, and not on how much battery power might still be available.
Any more suggestions from you guys? Maybe flashing stock kernel with cwm? I'm out of options...

Are you referring to Google earth? Because I installed it already, and did not work for me. As I stated earlier I have read of some problems with the app. Perhaps as kikat matures for Cube it will get better for us.

@ Burs, all aspects of my camera work. It did after my 3rd re flashim of the ROM.

hi all.

i have been running my u30gt2 from 08.10 this morning.

i have had a mixed day of surfing, e-mails, reading and such in all i have been useing it almost constantly,

by about 20.45 it was under 10% but i kept it going by downloading a few apps and updating others, and doing a titanium backup.

under 10% the battery charge indicator started reading strangely and kept jumping from 10% to 6% and the back up to 9%, whilst its been under 10% i have used it quite a lot but it finally ran out of juice at about 23.40

in all i thought it has run very well, and lasted better than i thought it would.

as a "beta" rom it has surpassed my expecations....and as they say, the only way is up

Well, congrats on that, sheepytoo! :) Mine wouldn't hold out a thrird of that :(
Can anyone with the similar battery drain as mine, tell how long they have their Cube? And if that was happening on 4.2.2 also? If it's only on KitKat, then I suppose it's the kernel acting up strangly. But if they are newcommers like me (and we all have some new weird batch), maybe a battery or part of a battery is defective? I hope it's the former, and that final KitKat will show up soon.

Everyone is doing their testimonial, so i will do as well.

I was about to send this tablet to my trash when KitKat came out. Everything is smoother. Everything is better, besides battery. It usually take 8 hours of full working (videos and readings) to go out, now about 5 hours and its asking for a recharge.

But, a part from that, everything is very very good.

I use the tablet to read books and watch video-class, and its very good now. on ezPDF while scrolling with 3D effect, it was laggy as shit, now its not perfect, but pretty much near it, and antutu scored less (lol!?). was around 20.500 on 4.2 and 19.000 now.

Thats it. Keep up the good work boys and im ready for the Final Release :D

even wifi seens better now.

No, unfortunately not. RKAndroid is the only way for now.
I just made a backup today with it, and everything went smooth.
I just hope everything is in there :)

WiFi stays on during standby by default. You may want to reconfigure that in advanced WiFi settings.

Thanks. So it might be the rom. Haven't checked it before, but I thought it's broken. Did you tried it in previous roms?

I did that too. And I also disable it whenever I don't need it, which is 80% of the time. I also installed 3-4 battery apps specific for this kind of problem, and everything seems "fine". Most of the time my tablet is in deep sleep, but the excessive drainage is still present. Also, when idling (with screen on), CPU is set at much lower frequency, so that's not the reason too. I'm giving up for now, will see how it will behave in the final KitKat version. Until then, I'm shutting down my tablet overnight, and for longer periods when I'm not planning to use it...
