 Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !
Here is an Android 4.4.1 KitKat (KOT49E) firmware update for the Cube U30GT C4. Our custom firmware is based on Cube firmware test firmware release built on 2013/12/12. Â
Please note that this firmware probably won't run on other machines than the U30GT C4, the Cube U30GT2 is a different model.
Build information:

ro.rksdk.version=RK30_ANDROID$(PLATFORM_VERSION)-SDK-v1.00.00
Custom firmware features:

- Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible

- disabled OTA updatesÂ
- increased storage space for applications (/data partition) to 4 GB

Flash the firmware with Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7,  use Restore button.
Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have anymore a Cube U30GT C4 tablet to test the custom firmware.

I did load the KitKat rom onto my U30GT2, it can't get past the multiple screens it wants to open with. Figured it would be a display problem as the displays are different. Had to do a full restore of a working ROM. No problems afterward. You do need to restore with Rockchip 1.70 and you'd better know how to push the buttons to get into bootload mode.

That was very brave of you. I was hoping to try to port it (first time trying to port anything) over the next few days.

Indeed Kell! A good warning for all! I have flashed some of the apps. But I have had to backtrack on several. The gallery app for one was not working appropriately. When I decided to get rid of it, took the camera app with it and I have not been able to use my rear camera nor my video recording. Not that I used it much, but I would like it back in working order. I plan to gift this tablet to my daughter if the US Tax return people are good to me again this year so I can purchase another tablet to play with.

If someone is feeling brave enough to try it, I can prepare a CWM-based install of this, with kernel #38 (or kernel #12) from 4.2.2. And don't blame me if your tablet dies in a blaze of fire ...

I'd probably give it a try if you posted it. Could you make it with #38 as that's the one I've got installed and working well at the moment.
