So Darth, tablet now at 45% of usage after 23:42:37 hrs. of being on sleep mode with about 3 or 4 wake ups during that 23hr span. phone radio used 91.9%, screen 3.5%, wifi was active and used .8% held awake 2.2% app usage @ 1.7%. I calibrated battery when I installed initial rom zip, I later installed phone mod, but did not calibrate battery again. I will keep it on battery with same charge, but I estimate battery will last 46 to 50 hrs only at this rate. Also wifi has been on during this period. Screen off during sleep mode.

Antutu (if it helps), @  18204

Is that helpful?, I have not run anything movies or you-tube yet. So I don't know how it performs on that yet. Will keep you posted.

Hi alla, i report more or less the same numbers than maikal.

The battery is currently at 20% after 40h21m. The usate percentages are: phone 95.5, display 2.5, wifi 0.8, apps 1.2.

Without the phone patch usually there is a better performance, let's say 10, 15% more.

I think that Validatus is right. It must be the battery issue (pbs=problems). If not how to explain that I am working on 2.04 Kasty rom and having not any battery drain problems?

Thanks. I would expect the charge to last for about 3 days in standby mode - but it all depends on whatever else is going on in the background. However, we also need to know that the battery information is actually correct. After calibration (which should be done when the battery is fully charged and the power is connected), you are supposed to reboot (with the power supply still plugged in), them remove the power supply and let the battery run down completely. After that, charge it again, and you should get a more accurate result.

I did have battery drain issue to start with as well as Wifi issues.  So feeling brave I followed DarthJabba advice on fixing WiFi with electrical tape.  Whilst the tablet was open I noticed areas where the batteries might be shorting and put some tape there as well.  I now have no battery drain issues or wifi issues and am happily on 2.04 Kasty rom (might try this one soon when I get a bit of time).  So I think the issues maybe with build quality - however a steady hand and some electrical tape seems to fix some of them.

Hi,

yesterday, annoyed by the multiple mulfunctions and freezings of my tablet, I decided to go for the CWM zip flashing. I loaded correclty the ROM provided by Jabba, following carefully all necessary steps.

At the end of procedure, I got the message "all OK", and rebooted the tablet from CWM.

I waited for the ROM image to "settle" as suggested. Instead of waiting for 10 minutes, I waited for 2 hours. Results: tablet completely frozen on the chinese logo screen (the one coming immediately after the arctablet logo screen).

Tried to reboot, no way. I cannot even load CWM anymore. My USB port does not work (it used to work, since I flashed some 10 ROMs with no problems). So my tablet is completely dead and useless.

I don't want to blame Darth nor anyone for this since it was my own decision to go for it. But now I have my tablet dead.

What are the options? Can you please suggest any action?

How can I start again from CWM?

Is there a way to fix USB port? Will I have to send back the tablet to China for this?

I'm very very disappointed.

Any hint is highly appreciated.

Reading this I am quite wondering of bricking risks and unbricking options. In comparison Allwinner is very unbrick friendly and almost impossible to unrecoverably brick. Rockchip...?

I suppose you attempted to power down the tablet in the first place right? Keep the power button pressed for ~20s until tablet switches off then power it up again and boot it normally if possible or reflash using RK tool.

Afaik CWM cannot be entered straight away from power on mode due to bootloader limitation, Android must be booted first. Rockchip seriously...

Hi Wintermute, as I said I would be delighted of using Rockchip tool to flash a brand new ROM, but I can't since USB port is not working so the tool does not "see" any device attached.

Too bad. I'll have to find another strategy.

Suggestions?

Is the USB port fixable? I think is printed in the board someway.

Are you absolutely sure that your USB port is not working or maybe it is only connecting cable problem? I had a month ago the same problem I mean I could not connect to my PC to flash new rom. Then I tried my friend's USB standard/USB micro cable used with his Sony phone. It worked! Then I bought at some internet shop the new cable (German product), plugged it and all problems disappeared!. I reckon that chinese cables are not reliable at all.
