Hi All,
I have been googling and trying to get this to work for 24 hrs + in total (yep, that doesn't include sleep time), and I'm having no luck whatsoever.
I am trying to install the rockusb drivers that come with the rock tool so I can update my firmware.
So far I have done this:
- Allow debug in developers menus
- Cube is OFF
- USB Cable in Cube (NOT in PC)
- Hold Power button and +Vol together
- Connect USB to PC USB2 port
- My PC cannot find the device drivers - fair enough so I go to my device manager
- Choose install drivers from my hard disc and i point it to the Rockusb driver folder
This is where it goes wrong as it keeps coming back saying that there are no drivers there relevant to my device.
My device manager recognises it as a U30GT2 but has a yellow exclamation mark due to no drivers.
I have tried doing this so many times without any luck.
I've also tried editing the *.inf file that comes with the drivers, adding in the hardwareID that the device manager gives out.
This in fact makes something happen and it starts to install the drivers.
It seems to complete the installation of the drivers but then comes up with an "error 10 device stopped working"
In the device manager it's there but says the drivers have stopped.
I'm at my wits end...from what I researched initially as something pretty easy to root is coming out to something I cannot even get the drivers to install for.
I'm running Vista 64bit and have a dual boot into Ubuntu.
Any help would be great.

regards
So I managed to finally do it, rocktools turned green (at last!) and I was able to flash a custom rom across.
i chose:Â kasty-cube_u30gt2-422-204_20130810-cwm_rooted4d.zip
I've used cwm before when I rooted an old HTC Desire, but I was wondering if I actually needed to install cwm FIRST before I flashed this rom across?
The rom seems to have been flashed across ok (had to mount and format the internal memory), but not sure if I've replaced the stock recovery?
Am keen to flash the DJ version on the ROM as I'm having some poor battery drain, but DJ is cwm only..
Any tips?
