Hi, guys first time poster here and first time owner of a tablet so go easy please as in the description of this thread only had this thing 3 days and from day 1 it has been locking up, freezing and powering down randomly, bought of Ebay store good feed back spoke to them and they say its a firmware issue and needs to be re flashed does this sound right? it's build number is V2.03_20130606 with Android 4.2.2 cheers for any help

Hi,
Yes, they are almost certainly correct; you need to load in new firmware. I suggest the latest Kasty 4.2.2 based one 2.06 using the Rockchip loader 1.70. You'll find it near the top of this forum. You'll need a PC and the white USB connecting cord that came with your tablet. Make sure that you're fully charged or leave it plugged in. Get on the PC in an admin account, go to Arctablet and download the firmware and the loader to your desktop. Put the software into a folder and unzip everything. You'll see the Rockchip loader program and an image file. Here's the only hard part, or maybe not; since this will be your first attempt at connecting to your PC, you have to get the PC to recognize the tablet. It may recognize it right off, but maybe not. OK, open the loader from the desktop file of your PC, when it's up, click on the three dots in the upper right hand corner and point to the image file in your new folder, hit OK. Now the loader is up and looking at the correct image file and you need to connect the tablet. DON'T TURN Â THE TABLET ON YET. Connect the white USB cable to PC and tablet, then hold volume+ and power button down together, release only the power button after 4-5 seconds, continue holding the volume+ button until you see a screen come up. Let the intro screen play through and you should see either a yellow or green light come on in the loader. If green, you're ready, if yellow try clicking on the "switch" button. Is box number 1 green yet? If not, you'll have to click on computer, then right click on a blank spot to drop down menu and select properties. In the upper left hand corner you'll see "Device Manager", click it and look for a yellow warning in the USB section. Click on this and tell it to load in the driver by directing it back to the desktop/your new file/and looking around until if finds the driver it wants. Load this driver in and you'll get a USB connection (and won't need to do it again in future). Your #1 box in the Rockchip loader should be green, if not hit switch button again (should be green now, if not reboot tablet as before). If you have managed to get to this point and you're showing green, click on "RESTORE" and watch it fix your problem. You can unplug the USB cable when you see the tablet start to reboot. Best of luck to you and Happy New Year! I've had my tablet since last May and I love it!
NOTE: plug the USB cable in earlier and then turn off the tablet. Whenever you plug or unplug anything on this tablet, it turns on.

Many thanks for such a great walk through reply, i shall attempt to do this today hopefully all will go well just worried that it might crash/lockup whilst trying to flash it, oh and in your post you said "try clicking on the "switch" button" i presume you mean the power button just to confirm cheers again and Happy New Year to you and all here at Arctablet Forums

ok trying to do this now but you said "Let the intro screen play through and you should see either a yellow or green light come on in the loader." well mines kinda pink lol and when i look at the tablet its got the Android logo on it and something about turning mass storage on? help please guys

Sorry about mixing up the colors, yellow, pink? Anyway, not green. I guess you found the button marked "SWITCH" on the loader and was able to get the green to light up. No news is good news, as they say, but drop a line here and let me know how the table is working for you. All the best!

No worries mate appreciated your reply, all seems well all the issues i was having seem to have stop seems faster and smoother, but just now and then it's if it stops responding for a few seconds but then it's if it remembers what it's supposed to be doing and gets on with it lol but all in all very happy with it
