To be honest I never had any lag with the keyboard, in fact its the opposite, maybe your are a faster typer then me.... Try clearing your caches... Dalvik and system

I think keyboard speed may be subjective, depending on previous experience on different devices. I think it's to slow if I have to wait over a second or two to show up and it takes more then that. I tried with separate play store download - Google keyboard and it is the same - slooooooooooow. Swyping lags, and it lags baaaaaad! I tried with swype and its terribly slow, like so slow it's unusable on this pad.

I had different 4.22 versions on it. It came with 2.03, then I fresh installed 2.04 test , and now have fresh installed 2.04 from few days ago and it is millisecond faster but still sloooooooooow. Also, Chrome browser does not scroll well at all. I am forced to use native keyboard bc Swype is to slow to use, and I am forced to use native browser as Chrome is unusable on this pad, so I am not happy at all at this point. I mean, Android 4.3 doesn't even have native android browser and relies on Chrome browser only.

At this point, as someone else mentioned, this pad works like it was made in 2009 and has amazingly slow RAM and internal memory and totally feels like inside is single core 1Ghz CPU. Thats how this pad feels. I mean, my ancient 2009 Sprint Evo4G with custom 4.0 Android on it that I am using these days as alarm clock works as fast if not faster then this so called "quad core" pad when I am to check lets say G+ posts, or run some news app. My 2012 Galaxy Nexus with pitiful dual core 1.2Ghz CPU and 1GB of RAM is about 10 times faster and I am serious, I am really, really serious when I say that. My kid's 7 inch android based on tegra 2 CPU pad, is incomparably faster in every possible way!!! You know what this pad is? It is combination on cheapest parts you could get regardless if they work well together- put together and then hire cheapest barely qualified programmers to somehow make this work.

There is a Chinese guy, who loves Lamborghini cars and decided to make one by himself. Try to find it, it's on youtube. He made one. Well, that's what this pad compares to.

I only have had one other experience with tablets, and I don't know what you may or may have not done to your cube, but I am not having the experiences that you folks that come on this forum and complain about how bad this tablet is. I know what I was buying from the get go, a non-ipad. But I can tell you this much. I have seen my sisters iPad at work, and I totally love my cube, despite its idiosincracies. I guess you folks just expected more than you paid for. I don't know, like I said, this is my second  tablet and I am not having the problems you folks describe.

Its interesting how the user experience can differ from one person to the other, with the same product. I can guess that perhaps its to be with the "QC" that chinese products are famous for, but also I might add that user expectatives have a bit to do, as well as software optimization.

Even though is is my first tablet, I must say that I have not been dissapointed by it. I also have an android phone, an international Galaxy SIII (quad core Exynos), and this tablet performs better on all tasks. Also, the problems i might have encountered (like the aforementiones chrome lags) are also present on my SIII.I think I can safely asume that even if it is no longer cutting edge, my SIII is by no means an absolute obsolete piece, and it constitutes a fair point of comparision.

Regarding the sluggines of chrome browser, making a quick google search will show that it is a somewhat common problem, with some android specialized magazines analyzing it and screaming at google to fix an absurd situation (GOOGLE chrome not working adequately on GOOGLE android? Hard to be more absurd than that)

And on the often commented iPad comparision, one of my sisters has an iPad mini, while the other has an iPad 3. Yes, there are certain aspects of the iPad that seem better than my Cube (mainly UI related), but, in all honesty, it's extremely hard to justify the huge price delta, when in  practically every aspect that I use the tablet for (web browsing, online shopping for my business, movie watching, email -personal and business-, book reading) my tablet performs way better than their iPads.

Just my (long) two cents.

Hi Francsal,

Did you made custom ROM on other forum as you had the same issue as I do with gray screen when trying to boot in cwm recovery? If yes, any way you could upload it to cloud and provide link? Thx

That is what I am talking about. The famous android lag reincarnated in 4.2.2 on quad core tablet. I am comparing to my tf101 with cm10.1 4.2.2 where keys are literally jumping at you, almost like before you even touch them. This pad does not perform in any aspect better than iPad 1 or any tf101 - if you are saying the contrary, you probably haven't tried any of those long enough. WiFi sucks big time unless you sit on the router or solder a satellite dish to it - just check the WiFi threads in this section of the forum. There are many opportunities for failing the designs of tablets and smart phones, and Chinese usually rarely miss any of them. They rely on hit and run tactics - sell the specs, and run away with the money.

I used to own jiayu g2 and Newman n2 - both sold now and replaced by nexus 4. Each new firmware for n2 was breaking more features than it was fixing. I spent so much time on various forums, that it probably ended being more expensive than a brand new phone, all things considered.

Hi, So after spending days and days trying to get my windows 8 machine to connect to my cube u30gt2, i thought well logic is not making it work , I will try the xp drivers and whatta you know it connected!!! Update with V2.04 which is great , but no tun.ko, so installed an RK3188 tun.ko and got vpn working though it is very slow and not very effective, so hopefully that will be fixed in next version. Just thought I'd share and say thanks guys for the firmware!!

Yes, power button works better.

I as well figured after watching around half hour of Netflix, tab will freeze. The only way to restart is to press and hold power button for 15 seconds.
