Installed it and have it rooted.  Power button responds with one click, SD card write access, smooth and responsive, WiFi seems more stable and faster  Very happyGood news. I'll wait until Admin created the new ROM ( rooted, chinese removed, 4Gig of space etc) and test it.
Good news, but... one big issue lefts: the suspension mode of the tablet (notifications, alarms, WiFi...). Anyway, Cube is working fine.
Regards.

Yes and Netflix is still freezing the system, and still have the graphics clitch in one of my apps, so I guess this is why they havnt come out with an official yet. My guess is that they are finding it tough working with the new kernel from rock chip.Â
Also I notice that when I use setcpu I can clock to 1.6ghz is this the standard freq, I though it was 1.5ghz

Ok, thanks to cuberiordan I fianlly got it rooted, deleted the chinese apps, deleted the phone.apk (although whiel I was rooting, i did not noticed any excessive battery drain), installed a few apps, and been toying around with it a bit.
Overall it feels more responsive. Benchmarks seem to support that objective comment, since both Antutu and Quadrant are giving me better results than the beta version.
As previously noted, the battery indicator is working now, and the power button needs to be pressed just once to lock the tablet.Â
I did noted that the power button needs to be pressed a bit longer to power the tablet on.
WiFi seems somewhat improved. I do get a bit of better reception on my room (used to have 2 bars tops, when lucky, now it stays at three), about 15 feet and two concrete walls from the wifi router.
USB keyboard works perfect, as well as my bluetooth mouse. Play store is not as laggy as it was before (still lags, but not as horribly as it did).Â
In "About tablet" it doesn't show "beta version" anymore.Â
One big improvement was flipboard, now it's completely smooth (it was a bit laggy and cumbersome in beta version).
HDMI oputput (video and audio) works without a problem (tested it just for a few minutes).
All in all, I must say I'm pleased with this release. IN fact, considering that it's already rooted, I think it's gonna stay on my Cube until such time as the Multi-window release appears (hopefully soon!)
Cheers!
Frank.

I am running that Chinese 2.04 version for a few days now. apps react smoother and faster comparing to previous 2.04 beta. Other issues I need remain:
-Chrome Android browser is still far, far from being smooth and that's the one I would like to use.
-mp4 (x264) videos stutter/jitter
-My private internet access VPN app does not work
So, generally speaking- I cant use VPN and can't use browser I like... and cant watch videos as they are jittery... now when I think about it - it sucks big time.
If someone knows what code is missing for VPN apps to work on RK chip-set, please let me know as I am unable to figure this out.

I think you need a tun.ko module to use the VPN, the tun.ko is made using the source files, if those are available you should be able to compile one.
The great guys from Crew RKTablets have compiled a few modules, including tun.ko for RK3188 based tablets.
We'll see in the future if these can be included as a separate package.
Cheers.

How did you root it? All driver instructions suck big time.
KB lag is still very present, making typing a real nightmare. We would all be better off with ipad 1.
