Hi Guys

just saw the Pipo M9Pro has just got multi-windows support.

http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php/2013/08/07/the-multi-window-system-of-android-4-2-2-comes-to-tablets-pipo-m9prom9pro-3g/#.UgJe5WtwZ9A

That's the second tablet in the last few days!

Hope this means the Cube will be getting it soon.

hello...

There's allready a way to Install it :

http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?p=1499

OMA's rom and replace the Kernel.img by the one from Cube (there's a link to download Kernel from many rk3188 tablet)...

I didn't try yet and still wait a few day for official Rom from Cube

OMA's install it on Rk3066 and rk2918 too...

Thanks for the info and link. Unfortunately I am useless at manipulating ROMs, tried before and failed miserably.

If there is anybody here that can do it I'm sure there are plenty of people who would try it, I certainly would.

Okay, so I've had a look and I'll give it a go.

I'm away until Monday so that's the day I mess up my tablet lol.

I've installed the Oma multi-window 4.2.2 ROM for RK29xx on my old Teclast A15 (single core) tablet (I'm too chicken to install on the Cube). It certainly works. However, I doubt that I would want to work with multiple small windows on my tablet. I'll give it a few more days and see whether I think it is worth having ...

Well done, good work. I've done a CWM backup so I can recover if it goes pear shaped when I put it on my Cube Monday.

I have found using multiple windows very fiddly (I probably just haven't got the hang of it yet - I've read no manuals, so it's all just trial and error). I think the single core processor struggles a bit - a dual core or quad core would handle it just fine. Whether it would be truly useful is another matter ...

I test Oma's build with cube Kernel : that's not for us yet

- Auto-Rotation doesn't work

- icons are really very small due to ppi

- tablet comes very hot...governor set at full speed all the time

You can choose if you want to activate it or not : that's great! I play a few minutes but I'm going back to 270713...

Promysing but it's unusable yet....until the 3 things works

I try to install a Russian version too...but I didn't succeed...

It comes from these forum :

http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=458533&st=1720#entry24060841

I think I must install a previous version before the one with multiwindow...CMW give me an error

Today on the   chinese cube forum (which, by the way is really a pain in the... you know where.... ) I found a topic that google translated as:

Quad peas over two windows version V2.04-0807_4GRJ_By-cmphone_V1.0   [Copy Link]

The download link was hidden, but by replying to the post I was able to attain the link (by the way, my post was "banned or deleted" - I even used the friggin google translator to make a nice, kind post in chinese... whatever...)

My curiosity was spiked because of the numbering of the release, V2.04-0807 (that would make me assume that is a newer version that the current on test) and because of the "two windows version" text.

I am downloading it now,but the size of the download makes me a bit suspicious (just 234 MB)

I definitely have no idea how to inspect the contents of the .img file, so, if anyone can and is interested to, here's the link:

http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=3912306574&uk=775050051

Hope that someone with knowledge can take a look at it.

cheers.

Frank.

The embedded system.img is 370mb; normally, they come in at around 520mb. I have mounted it successfully. The space usage is slightly smaller than others. So it appears ok - but I'm not going to try it.
