I'm not an expert on android but I tried to dig deep and don't get ahead with the update of my u30gt2 to 4.2.2!!!!
NEED HELP - PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How do I get the U30gt2 rooted and connected to the pc?
That's what I do: I press the volume + and the power on button until the cube logo appears. Then I release the power on (otherwise the tablet will be reset and nothing happens) and keep the volume + pressed until the android on it's back with open hart and "!" appears. Then I release the volume + as well and connect the tablet via USB to the pc. after I start the rockusb.inf to get the USB driver installed, the tablet won't be recognized by the RKBatchTool.exe to start the upgrade process.
I tried pc's with xp, win7 64, and win8 with Rockchip_Batch_Tool_v1.6 as well as v1.7. What's my mistake?
Every idea is appreciated, Thanks,
I don't have a Cube U30GT2, but I think you should press Vol- button, see here:
(the rest of the topic from my link probably won't be very interesting for you )
Getting the open Android logo means you entered in recovery mode, it's not what you want to do.
When you properly enter in flashing mode with Vol- you should get a black screen on your tablet, then PC asking for drivers installation...

When tablet is switched off, press and hold vol + while connecting to PC
Windows will recognise, but won't be able to install driver
You must manually show windows the location of the drivers ( these are contained within the rock chip batch tool folder)
With windows 8 I had to go to devices under control panel and click on unrecognized USB device, then click update driver in there.
Green icon will show up in rkbatch tool application when drivers are installed
When this happens simply select your ROM (the extracted update), using the button on the top right corner of the rkbatchtool application
Then click restore at the bottom ( not upgrade, which could be used, however there might issues especially if making a big jump in your ROM version)
Hope this helps
