Hello guys.

Some of you might remember me, I used to visit this forum regularly about a year ago.

I stopped coming here, because I gave my tablet to my son, so he could use it in college. Unfortunately, my son passed away last week. When his mother and me went to pick up his stuff I found the tablet. As you can imagine I would like to see what were the last thing he did on it, before resetting it and giving it to his mom, but the cube has pattern protection and obviously, I do not have it.

I googled for a way to remove the pattern lock, and it looked pretty simple, requiring the use of adb shell. However, every time I try to use it I get this error message:

               error: device not found

I tried both just connecting it to the computer whit the tablet powered on, and in the recovery mode used to flash a new ROM (it's using Kasty 4.2 rooted btw), but get the same results.

So, I came here to ask you guys if there's a way to use adb shell to remove the .key file with the lock pattern from the Cube? Or any other way you might think about so I can gain access to my son's last activities?

I would highly appreciate your help here guys. I already did a "backup" of the info I could while connecting the tablet to the computer, but I really would like to have access to his last moments on it.

Thanks in advance.

Franc Salazar.

FrancSal. I don't have an answer for you but perhaps someone else will. I just wanted to offer my sincere condolences for your loss! I do remember you from when I first came here with my Cube! I hope someone can help you unlock the tablet.

Many condolences for your loss :-(

I don't know a direct way to remove the lock - but if it is simply a matter of removing or replacing a file, it should be relatively easy to do that with a custom update zip that you can install from CWM recovery (if that is installed).
