Hi

Would some kind soul give me some advice with my Cube U30GT2 10.1" Quad Core 1.8GHZ Retina RK3188 Android 4.2 2GB 16GB Tablet. It came with various Chinese apps that cannot be removed and the WiFi connection is to say the least, very poor. The manual is a total waste of paper. Without the means to connect to the Internet properly, this tablet is almost useless. I bought it for my wife as a present and she has got so fed up that I am now in her bad books. Reading forums and other sites, I need to update the Firmware. The company I bought this from just confuse me totally when they reply to my questions, as they are Chinese and do not communicate in understandable English. They talk about ‘root the tablet’ and ‘range extender’ and ‘Forget/delete the open network’.

I am absolutely lost. They talk about flashing? Can anyone explain in simple words how to update. Many thanks.

There are several threads on this forum that explains how to flash and root the tablet. Just have to do a little homework. If you just got the tablet then you are not rooted. As to the wifi, thats been a problem with the tablet from the begining. Some of the software claims to do a little fixup but we have found that it is minimal. You can buy a wifi extender for the home that you can use to bring your signal closer to the tablet, or you can ask the wife to sit closer to your router! Then duck!

But seriously look for the rooting forum at http://blog.geekbuying.com/ You are lucky in that much work has gone on to simplify rooting and flashing new firmware for this and other tablets. I suggest that between that site and this site you will get all the help you need, but you have to do some reading!
