Hi DJ

the OC kernel #38 gives me a 206

after moving the background with something else

it's a real pleasure to use the cube, the cube is absolutely different

and my environment is kept

thanks

Hi!  I have seen that there is a 2.06 ROM available with the overclocked kernel.  But I am already having a 2.06 ROM install from Freaklab.  Can I install this kernel with CWM straight over the other 2.06?

Thanks

Probably. But you can only know by trying.

I'm not about to try overwriting 2.06 kernel with the overclocked one from 2.04 just to find my Cube bricked. Did anyone tried it, and were there any problems after overwriting the kernel?

I have tried both #38 &  #12 ( with the 2.06 Rom from freaktab) but so far the only kernel that I found that works good enough for me is also the one from freaktab.

But installing any of these kernels won't brick your u30gt2 though.

The kernel in the 2.06 ROM from freaktab is a version of kernel #12 ("Linux version 3.0.36+ (lincp@tchipserver1) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #12 SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 16 11:48:35 CST 2013").

What is the difference between it and the other kernels in terms of how it works for you?

OK, I know there could be some side-effects, like faster battery drain, but I was more interested if 2.06 rom and 2.04 kernel are compatible, so I don't end up with a bricked tablet. If that goes well, and I see some weird side-effects, I can always overwrite OC kernel with a stock one.

Hi!  That is the only kernel that I found that doesn't lag all the time...  I was on the edge of getting rid of my tablet.  I couldn't stand the long unresponsive lags all the time, my old HP Touchpad feels so much faster.  With the kernel from Freaktab, my tablet finally feels like a normal functional tablet.  The battery drain is surprisingly not that bad neither with that ROM even if the CPU min speed is 1GHz.

Fair enough. I found kernel #27 overclocked had no lags. I am currently using the freaktab kernel #12 overclocked (@ permutation "t14"), and it is looking good - standby battery usage of 5% in 14 hours (similar to other overclocked "t14" kernels).

Is there somewhere a download link for these #12 and #27 kernels, possibly in update.zip cwm format? Thanks.

I have not tried all the available kernel... :-)  The other thing is that I needed the cifs and tun modules.  900supursport has posted a bunch of modules but some where not functionnal with the kernel I was using at that time.  They work with its kernel.  It probably work with some other kernel too but I think I am done experimenting on my U30GT2 until I can get a 4.4 for it.

Uploading is broken in this forum at the moment, but files can be attached to posts. So I have attached both to this post. As usual, use at your own risk. It works for me, but your mileage may vary.
