It's interesting that I get 2k-3k points just by unmounting my sd card, which doesn't even have running apps installed on it. Something else is here at play, which also has an impact on the general performance. The i/o is also benchmarked, so if the sdcard is unmounted, then it will affect the result.
Then something is definitely wrong with their algorithms, because other benchmarks do it too, and they don't deviate so much (or at all). But I expanded that issue on the whole system, not only on AnTuTu, because I feel added performance on pretty much everywhere I tap on. Maybe it has to do with my 250 installed apps (although much of them greenified and set auto-start to off upon booting), so maybe it would all be more consistent on a fresh installation. Doing that is last thing on my mind right now. Maybe sometime when I'm bored to death, but right now I have higher priorities dedicated to other more important things

Bur "And I think that this AnTuTu is so erratic with the given scores, that I'm not sure whether to trust it anymore."
Okay I went back to t14/720-1 in the last series i was testing. Remember I stated the Antutu score was 12k+ twice. well I tried it again like I said and the score was 21130. So I agree with Bur's statement above. Or could it be the result of testing all the other kernels yesterday that perhaps something was left behind? My sd card was out with all tests as with this one. It performed just as well as it did last night, except for the low antutu scores.
I did return to T14-720-4 because I think thats the better performing of the two.

I doubt whether anything is left behind from different kernels - and the cache is cleared before each kernel is actually installed.
I don't get such wild variations with antutu because I have discovered how to reduce the impact of random variables (see above).
My feeling from all my tests is that there is little between ddr667 and ddr720. So, the long and short of DDR is that 667 is more likely to be stable across devices. 720 will be stable for the few fortunate ones (like me).
Conclusion:
1. T14, gpu768/798, ddr667 is likely to be the most stable (i.e., for primetime)
2. The best performance will come from T15, gpu768/798, ddr720_ex. But this is only for those special Cubes that can withstand the voltage differences.
Does this sound like a reasonable conclusion? If so, then we can settle on T14, gpu798, ddr667 for general use.

I agree on that. And I would rather say it's something on the operating system level, like graphics driver which isn't initialized properly or something. Because in some games while testing the same kernel, there is a noticeable lag, like 5-10 fps, or at least some annoying micro-stutterings. All that with just one reboot inbetween.

I think that's a reasonable conclusion, at least based on the tests done so far.
BTW, how much likely is that the kernel will change in (hopefully) another KitKat version? Can we use the current ones on other KitKat versions?

Using your T14 667 overclocked kernel_305kitkat_cpu1800_t14_gpu798h_ddr667 and I am very happy with it since the desktop interface is way snappier than on stock and the performance in games has been improved considerably. The score in Antutu has also gone over 21K. No force close experiences so far, so all good.

I concur, though for me the t14-798-720-4 seems to work great. I am going to go back and try that t15 after letting my tablet rest for a while.
Okay, after an hour of shut down on the table, I did reflash that t!5 kernel 720 and got the same results, FC after less than half hour of working the tablet with it. I'm done for now with the T15.

If your cpu can't cope with 1800mhz, then I doubt that your ddr would be happy at 720mhz. But, in any case, when releasing the final versions, there will be one with cpu clocked at 1608mhz (i.e., stock).

Hopefully they will fix the kernel. It should be possible to use the current kernel with future KK versions. In any case, we will simply overclock any future kernels as well - now that I know what to look for in the binary kernels.

I think we can safely ignore T15. T14 has equally good or better performance. T15 was created only to see whether it would be feasible to improve battery performance by under-volting. In the end, it is too unstable in that state.

The first post in this thread has been updated, and a new zip file (a repository of several "T14" test kernels). I thought it was better to have the latest updates in one place, rather than all over this thread, as they are now.
You might find that Antutu reports higher scores for some of the ddr667 as opposed to the ddr720. Whether this is correct or not is anyone's guess. The idea is that you have plenty of choice - take your pick!
Please report all successes, failures, and antutu scores.
Thanks.

Hi
I think that many thing may be left behind from previouis installed roms (442, 442mu, 422, kernels, ..)
I re-installed "kasty-cube_u30gt2-442-20140121-rooted4"
no problem but during reboot the system told "I update 83 applications" (no wifi, no play, no ext sd)
what about trhat

For those who are brave (and curious) enough, here are some test kernels with ddr750. I have tested them, and they run okay, though with not very different antutu scores from ddr720.
Use at your own peril !!
PS: for those who couldn't run ddr720_ex before, don't even try any of these!
