You don`t compile a ROM using the toolchain.
Read here to find out more about toolchains http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_toolchain
also here
http://developer.android.com/tools/sdk/ndk/index.html
And this myth buster about toolchains
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/mythbusters-xda-edition-optimized-compiler-toolchains/
Linaro is just another Toolchain.
Toolchains are used to compile KERNELS, and modules.

adminI would also add about our custom firmwares, that the way we do them, at least for the moment, is that they are built from binaries tweaking only, there's no compilation involved for the kernel or Android system.
I don't know if current RK3188 kernel source code work great with Cube U30GT2, but there are a few successful custom kernel experiments for other RK3188 devices such as the Chuwi V88, see Crew RKTablets site.
I have also read different results about Linaro optimizations, probably depending on the ARM CPU architecture (Cortex A5/A7/A9), Android system version and compilation options. Unfortunately, it's not always as great as shown in Bernhard Rosenkränzer demo from last year.
Cheers

@globula_neagra I'm sorry, I often confuse things, but thanks for correcting me.
@admin First of all, thank you for your reply. So with your current way of building custom firmwares, it's not possible to optimize the kernel with Linaro.
I also took my time to read about Linaro results and so far I mostly saw positive results on Cortex A7 devices and also on A15 devices.
Is there maybe a chance that you could probably make a custom OC kernel for the U30GT2 based on the RK3188 resources and with Linaro optimizations? I could do intensive tests and show the results in terms of performance, stability and temperature.
One last question: How can I update the Mali GPU drivers? I know it is possible, but I am not sure if it works the same way as updating Adreno Drivers.
Regards

I fully agree with you while having the same experience. I have flashed my Cube using probably all custom ROMs issued till now but only this one is crashing. Therefore we should go back to the previous one. You are also right that booting sounds are really annoying.Â@Admin. Please, be so kind to remove them when making the next custom Rom. Best regards and many thanks for your job!
As I don't have a Cube U30GT2, could you please confirm the attached file is the boot sound ?
Yes, that is the boot sound.

What do other users think about having the boot sound removed ?
Cheers.
To remove the boot sound (you need root):
1. make a copy of /system/media/audio/ui/Lock.ogg to /system/media/audio
2. rename /system/media/audio/boot.ogg to /system/media/audio/boot.ogg.org
3. rename /system/media/audio/Lock.ogg to /system/media/audio/boot.ogg
4. change the privilleges (permissions) of /system/media/audio/boot.ogg same as /system/media/audio/boot.ogg.org
(The idea is let boot plays the Lock.ogg sound instead of the original boot.ogg sound )
I've tried it , it works .....

Zero problem, 100% Fun with this ROM. Super fast, smooth, stable. People, please clean your Dalvik Cache through Titanium Backup and Clean Cache through Android Recovery after you install this ROM. Thanks, Â admin for this new SDK 2.0 based ROM. If anyone has issues with the stock launcher, use Apex launcher and choose 0.5X Â Option for ALL animations under Developer options in Settings...... Screaming Tablet.Â

I'm liking this ROM so far. Didn't have many problems installing it (my tablet has CWM Recovery, which I can't figure out how to NOT have get wiped out after a firmware flash w Rockchip Batch Tool; also I don't know how to convert a ROM .img into a CWM flashable file, but that is all my fault, for not knowing).
Boat and Dolphin HD with flashplayer work well, even with things like YouTube @ 1080p, nice.
Also happy to say latest Netflix from Play Store works even at max bitrate in NF account settings, without garbled video.
I did manually install CWM Recovery after installing the ROM, via root terminal method (maybe that's why I lose my backups with CWM?) but see there's also a "backup to external-sd" so I can just save to a microSD card now.
Also, I manually edited /system/build.prop file to allow up to 5 users like others have posted about to enable multiuser; I had no problems with this.
Thanks for the ROM!

Dutchglory, check out this link http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/cube-u30gt2/wifi-issue-with-cube-u30gt2-fixed/
Wifi issues are fixed on this tablet. I hope this helps. It works for me.Â

Anybody who is complaining about battery drain on this ROM, do three of these changes.Â
1. Set your wifi to turn off during sleep in the advanced settings of wifi setup.Â
2. Install No Bloat app from the Google Play store and disable two system apps : the mobile phone system files. Don't delete them, just disable them. These apps show a little telephone icon next to them. We don't need these working in the background all the time, because this is a tablet and not a phone!Â
3. Install a Battery Calibration app from the Play store and calibrate your battery AFTER installing this ROM only when your battery is 100 percent charged and plugged in.Â
Enjoy!Â

Can you post details (or point to a post) of the root/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdrminal method of installing CWM please?
Thanks
