I haven't seen any significant difference in wireless performance between different firmwares. The greatimpact I can see is whether the table has a direct line of sight to the router.

It is clearly a "test" version, as described. It has crashed the tablet twice (which no other firmware, beta or otherwise has ever done). It is encouraging that Cube is moving to the new SDK. I think this firmware is going to rock!

In the meantime, it's back to the previous version, for 2 reasons - the very annoying sounds played during bootup, and the stability issues just reported.

I fully agree with you while having the same experience. I have flashed my Cube using probably all custom ROMs issued till now but only this one is crashing. Therefore we should go back to the previous one. You are also right that booting sounds are really annoying.

@Admin. Please, be so kind to remove them when making the next custom Rom. Best regards and many thanks for your job!

I have to say been using this a lot and didn't get any crashes or anything, WiFi still slow alright, but there has been a big improvement in speed and smoothness while browsing and in my apps.

What are you doing when it crashes?

Also I like the cube boot up sound!,each to their own

Of course, you can work smoothly as long as you are not using some application which results in suddenly freezing your tablet. In my case it was BSPlayer when I decided to pause playing a HD movie. It got frozen and any pushing of virtual or real buttons was ineffective. Only long time pushing of power button caused turning off and then I could restart the system. It never happened with other ROMs.

As I don't have a Cube U30GT2, could you please confirm the attached file is the boot sound ?

What do other users think about having the boot sound removed ?

Cheers.

Yes, that is the sound. I would prefer to get no sound at all.

@cuberiordan "What are you doing when it crashes?"

Normal stuff - including just starting Titanium Backup.

Hello there,

I'm expecting a problem I've never see. After some time with the new ROM the tablet suddenly started to mess with the touch screen. I click one place it activates in two other more. Tried to restart, reformat the table.. And it didn't help. When using that Antutu screen program to check sensibility seems it's burked.. Gonna install last ROM.. tomorrow, since I'm traveling and can't grab it now neither use the ROM now..

Any one for this error..

Been testing this fw for a day now and haven't had any crashes.

did expect a little better performance in 3d gaming though, but since I am not a "hardcore" gamer it is not bothering me that much.

battery life is excellent!

the boot sound (and extremely ugly animation) doesn't bother me, I don't reboot my tablet that much so no problems there.

still having bugs with the online simpsons game, "Simpsons tapped out" but I don't believe this to be a fault from the tablet, rather bad coding of the game wich results in lot of graphical glitches, probably because of incompatibility with the high resolution of this device.

game ran a lot smoother on my p7510 gtab 10.1

another bug I keep having is wifi disconnecting when device is sleeping, settings are ok but tablet seems to ignore it.

Have been testing with this tablet since last week, problems with erratic touchscreen behaviour I did not have just yet but if it is happening when tablet is connected to ac powersource then it is for sure a problem with the ac adapter. these chinese adapters are really bad at keeping a steady dc power wich results in strange touchscreen behaviour.

Same thing happened on my gtab10.1 when connected to a chinese adapter, no problems with original power supply.

Will there be any cwm compatible firmware updates in the near future? having to reinstall the entire tablet with every new fw is a lot of work...

That would be nice. So far, I have been creating my own cwm update zip. I also remove the phone stuff, set multi_user mode in build.prop, and add Dolphin browser and a reboot app before creating the package. It works well for me (install as a zip from cwm).

How works HDMI? And whether it works in general, with new adjustments?

tested hdmi with a full hd youtube movie (settings 1080p 50hz, native hdmi mute ticked, never sleep) and didn't have any issues :-)

I haven't seen any problems except the issues I wrote in an earlier comment so all seems to go well.

wifi speed isn't superb but surely acceptable, getting connected at 10-54mbps in the livingroom, about 7 meters and 3 walls away from my router.

Very good job, much props mate. For the next release I have got two suggestions:

* Could you probably use the Linaro GGC 4.7 Compiler Toolchain for compiling the ROM? It's universal for any Android ROM and really improves performance. I tested ROMs compiled with and without GGC for my SGS+ I9001 and GGC really improves performance.

* There's an overclock kernel for the Android Mini PC ready for download which overclocks the CPU to max. 1,92 GHz compared to the default 1,6 GHz. I think this would be a huge improvement, even if only overclocking it to the recommended 1,8 GHz of the specs on the manufacturer websites.
