Here is an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rooted firmware for the Cube U30GT2 tablet based on latest Cube official update version 2.01 released 2013/05/26

(CUBE U30GT2_V2.01_Android4.2.2_20130526.rar)

Kernel: Linux version 3.0.36+ (lcp@tchip-super) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #29 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 26 20:31:26 CST 2013

Android 4.2.2 JB: rk30sdk/rk30sdk/rk30sdk:4.2.2/JDQ39/eng.lcp.20130523.191215:eng/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst-keys

According to the manufacturer, this firmware brings the following changes (Google Translate from Chinese):

1  further improve the software and hardware compatibility;

2. optimize overall system operation fluency, enhance the user experience.

Custom firmware features:

  • root with latest SuperSU version 1.30 (free version)
  • removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
  • Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
  • updated busybox¬†v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
  • Unix like¬†init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts¬†here
  • changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access

Download: kasty-cube_u30gt2-422-201_20130526-rooted3.zip

Please flash with Rockchip Batch Tool 1.6, use Restore button.

Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have anymore a Cube U30GT2 tablet to test the custom firmware.

The best thing to do is flashing with Rockchip Batch Tool 1.6 and use Restore button while flashing to make sure the tablet gets properly erased.

We have 3 mirrors on our servers that should provide reasonable download speed for most part of the world, please don't mirror our files.

Hi, could you please tell me the difference between Restore and Upgrade on Rockchip?

I always have flashed the custom rom's by using the upgrade button. And never had problems..

Thank you.

I, too, would like (or to be pointed to) an explanation of the difference between flashing via Rockchip Tool in Restore and Upgrade modes.

Also, how to make a backup, or flash the stock firmware back to the tablet, in case of any errors.

Thanks in advance.

Restore vs Upgrade is like Windows setup.

Upgrade keeps existing data and just replaces systemfiles, restore aims to "restore" your chosen image by erasing the internal memory and then installing the rom.

Upgrade can work (will, probably, in this case of just slightly altered betas) but there¬īs much that can go wrong.

To be on the safe side you should do "restore"; that¬īs also the only way to be sure any occuring problems are really bugs and not faulty installation.

You can always back up all your userapps+their data data using titanium backup and, after clean install of new rom, restoring them. 3-4 clicks and youre done.

but will do full wipe than.. better have defective screen widget than system lol

Just installed the new firmware. There is a new wallpaper :P So running antutu now, will post the results right away. @Admin did you forget the little chiming sound in the loading screen ? :P just kidding..

Antutu finished running :) the score is 15200 so again better than the last beta that scored 15080.

Will install other apps now and check.
