peteus i play vidio games for over 20 years, i still use crt monitor because LCD sux, i can fell diference in 90 vs 120 fps, if i say i didint seen any stutter its mean where wasint any.
first thing i did then i get my tab is instal mx player, instal neon codec and set hw+ ,if you didint done this, dont say "tab laging", if you dont use corect apps and configs no matter what SoC you have - you will have problems.
I have MX Player pro and can't install custom codec (neon). I think it is better on some videos than the BS Player pro but I like the interface better on the BS Player pro.
what about the 1.8 GHz cpu speed?
Havnt heard anything, only that it IS possible to overclock the kernal. But without source code there is not much developers can do. However I would imagine that rockchip are actively working on increased cpu and gpu speed, but are probably hitting problems, like battery life
this is stupid .... I want my 1.8 ghz ... as we were promised
It is possible, for example here is kernel clocked at 1.7Ghz for mini Android box running on same Rockchip SOC as Cube u30GT2 (on place of only 1.6 in stock one).
Few days back someone released Rockchip source code. I think that eventually all issues will be solved however it is indeed going so slow that by the time all finally works as it should, it will be the time to get new tablet as battery will be dead by then in this one.
Rockchip initially advertised their RK3188 at 1.8 GHz. It quickly appeared that none of the devices (tablets / MiniPC) that shipped with this processor ran at 1.8 GHz, but maxed at 1.6 GHz. Rockchip and most manufacturers changed their specs since then. It's not clear if RK3188 is limited because of stability or battery life...
I ran some tests at 1.7 GHz on stock UG007b MiniPC without problem. I even got it running quite stable at 1.92 GHz with an additional fan on the MiniPC.
I don't think the different Rockchip RK3188 source code floating around at the moment can directly be used to rebuild a kernel for the Cube U30GT2, but it will probably happen sometime soon. In the worse case, there may be an possibility to modify the frequencies in the kernel binary. Yet to see if it's worth the it and the device run stable when set to 1.7 GHz or more.

I just got my tablet, i'me very please with it, installed latest release and so far no grave issues.
I have a S3 phone, about same specs and i notice some diferences i miss and if possible would like to have implemented if u obviosly agree to
-Profiles for instance, in a tablet i think it makes sense if its used by more that one ppl.
-Big tweaking at gpu level. Playing a game like candy crush for instace and using a tool like PerfMon i can that see that the 4 cpu r always very high (1400Mhz+) getting the tablet very hot and i imagine battery consuming.
That's my 2 cents for now, thank you very much for your hard work, hope to keep seeing more updates to this wonderful tablet.
hi to all !!!

I just tried my tom tom GPS receiver and it's a no go
I know it works as I tried it on another tablet. I'm using Bluetooth GPS app of the market(all of them)
and It knows it's there and connects but that's it. Anyone else got a dongle working?
Getting fed up of cube and may put it on the bay if I can't get the GPS working.
A great tablet, with a VERY poor development team in the company itself.
Had VPN with one test version, had the ability to charge when off with another test version, had slightly better WiFi with another test version. Yet when cube decide to release the official version all of these things are gone. Enough said.
I admit WiFi is not a problem for me as I us my phones internet (via the android hotspot option) when out and about
Which versions, maybe i can have a look and bring all the stuff together.
