@maikal
Did you used the restore option to flash the rom ?

2013/07/07

I tested yesterday final 2.04 CWM version:
Positives:
Multitasking is improved. You can now have apps update in background while opening/closing other apps.
Negatives:Â
-Chrome still stutters (slow)
-Netflix will freeze or stuck while playing movie every half hour or so
-WiFi will disconnects then connect often
-VPN app (private internet access in my case) will not connect
-System set VPN using PIA info will randomly disconnect
-720p mp4 (x.264) movies stutter is not fixed (kernel issue for all Rockchip SOC)
-particular to CWM version - I still get blank screen when I try to access recovery
It's just funny how Rockchip and Cube have time to experiment with x265 decoding and multiwindow experience but cant fix main issues like WiFi, major app compatibility issues, and x264 video playback.

I know. Not everyone sees it and it's not on all MP4 files but large majority. I immediately saw it but I have trained eye in recognizing any frame rate loss bc I was working as event videographer some time ago thus making sure that no frame drops are present. I as well transferred many PAL videos to NTSC videos that have different frame rate making sure video transfer was as smooth as possible. Some people don't even see that. I watched movie over Android mini TV box (MK908) and didn't say a thing expecting my brother to start complaining but he didn't, so he didn't see and framloss for example.
The issue was that due to kernel that comes from Rockchip refresh rate that is shown over HDMI or tab screen slows down during video play back. you get eventually 15fps on place of near 30fps and you can see difference especially when there is slow panning or when camera is fixed but car or person moves through. For me, it took seconds to see this tab have the same issue. Here is forum topic started by me (similarly as by others in some other forums for Rockchip devices) where you had bunch of people like you saying they don't see it but overwhelming number reported they do. Maybe those who played 3D shooters and suffered when due to complexity frame rate dropped under 30fps made it difficult to see/act- maybe they can easier recognize this issue. Anyway, this is not the only forum that deal with this issue and luckily like 2 weeks ago one of deducted members figured and changed portion of code in Rockchip kernel that now provides stutter free videos on MK908 based on same Rockchip SOC as u30GT2:
and here are "frameskipp fix" kernels for MK908 and some other devices:
http://www.freaktab.com/forumdisplay.php?154-Kernel-Development
What I am saying here is that it's not my imagination, because number of people complained and searched for solution which resulted in creation of stutter free kernel. Other thing is that it is easier to see that issue on big screen TV then on 10 inch pad, so it is normal that this issue was raised by Android mini TV box owners first. Sadly, there is no way to inform Rockchip software engineers and or developers about this. I actually did receive email response from them (maybe sales team) but nothing happened. I may ask the guy to make one kernel (or help me make one) for Cube at some point, but at this point it is not primary concern.Â

peteus i play vidio games for over 20 years, i still use crt monitor because LCD sux, i can fell diference in 90 vs 120 fps, if i say i didint seen any stutter its mean where wasint any.
first thing i did then i get my tab is instal mx player, instal neon codec and set hw+ ,if you didint done this, dont say "tab laging", if you dont use corect apps and configs no matter what SoC you have - you will have problems.

Have you tried to push the recovery via adb ?
The vpn will not work if the tun.ko module is not present.I didn't. I kind off hoped I don't not need to tinker with adb and modules installation for CWM recovery and VPN to work correctly.
Actually, the additional modules for VPN have been compiled and are included in our custom firmware, thanks to Oma and & Crew RKTablets. I can't check it's working as I don't have a Cube U30GT2, but you may try to load the modules with ArcTools, see VPN button under Drivers and Services, the setup should be quite similar like for the CIFS modules.
Cheers.

I re-flashed again the cwm version, this is what I got memory wise. Total internal storage 1.97 Gb, available 1.83gb, Apps 69.78, Misc 16.00 kb, cached 444 kb after clearing it.Nand flash total 28.12, available 28.12, mic 16.00kb
Â
Is that supposed to be it? Anyone?
It's normal since cwm version is 2Gb...

thanks, i was worried i did something wrong. So, who or what kind of user would need 4gb internal memory? do I need cwm if I already have the rockchip tools? am only going to flash the new versions of the roms as you folks put them out. Finally, am not a game player, I may have one game, galaxy on fire 2. Do i need to put it in the internal or will the nand flash do?
Thank in advance for reply.

Fantaz, you prefer those apps, they work good for u? I don't play movies on my table, or at least I haven't. I do like my music, over 3k songs. what do you use for music? Whats hw+?

previous cwm version had 4gb though didn't it?Yes, it had, but for some reason you cannot boot into recovery mode, think it had to do with changing form 2Gb to 4Gb app space, thats why this version cames with 2Gb.
Hmm I did not have that problem. What about the rest of my question? I'd be interested in knowing before deciding to keep it or go back to previous version? In your more knowledgeable oppinion than mine? Or is this a more superior version?

Personally i use the non CWM version, 4Gb. 2Gb probably would be enough but since this tablet is 32gb i decided to go for 4gb.
About installing apps, they are installed on Internal memory and normally they store data and big files on Nandflash.
I really liked the kasty(27/07/2013) but i'l test this one for some more days...
