@hasanpb - thanks. But does the 20130810 release have a problem with battery drain on your tablet? (i.e., what we need are people who definitely experience the battery drain problem with 20130810, but definitely don't experience it with 20130807).

@DarthJabba - I tested yesterday both version and 20130810 - in standby mode (phone.apk removed) 10% per hour :(

20130807 - few percent per 5 hours..

In case you work on the ROM please check also why the speaker phone volume was higher to the final 20130810 ROM..... THX

Hey,

I could be wrong, but i think any 2.04 version has the battery issue. I've tried all mentioned in this forum, freaktab, htcmania and even on geekbuy forum, not one had this issue fixed.

Still on 2.03 from past june, but i do miss the noticable performance from 2.04, what i don't feel like is charching my tablet every single day :P So until then i will wait patiently for a dev to discover and fix this big issue.

@Admin: You still around? Any news about new roms incoming? Cheers.

Fully charged last night while reading. Went to bed with 100% charge, about 12am est US Florida. as of right now 7:34 am battery is at 98% charged. Left it on standby sleep all night, with wifi on but screen off. Again, I think some of the roms are working correctly on some of the tablets, but in no way so far is there a uniformity apparent. In 7hr:38: I only lost about 2%. I am now going to leave it on standby with music player on, screen off, no power cord, no wifi. I am still on the DJ edition with the added phone mod.

Which ROM you have please clarify, What other actions you took like uninstalling or installing apps etc.

Cheers

DarthJabba 20130810 v2.04, with phone apps as follows, telephonyprovider.apk, phone.apk, mms.apk. These were part of the DarthJabba rom, and not the later mod he built for us, so I think its his second rom. I did re-install it twice since he originally put it out.

5 hours.......after charge......O% of battery loss! I think it is a success story to say! I did not remove anything from the system!

Flashed 20130807, loaded applications, signed into google, calibrated battery, deleted phone.apk, turned wifi off.

9.5 hours later it has lost %2 in standby (98%), all other 2.04 roms would typically be less than 50%, waiting on a CWM DarthJabba mod based on 20130807 :)

Actually, the 20130807 is 2.04 and does not have the battery drain issue. As far as I can see, I think the problem was the kernel itself, since the kernel's version it's the only difference that I can see between 0807 and 0810, as I said a few days ago:

  THIS (20130810) version: … (GCC) ) #37 SMP PREEMPT Sat Aug 10 10:07:29 CST 2013

"TEST" (20130807) version: … (GCC) ) #28 SMP PREEMPT Sat Jul 27 15:10:10 CST 2013

So, I can confidently guess that you can install the 30130807 version and not have battery issues.

I'm really glad to see that it's working ok for a lot of people now. Glad to have been of service!

20 hours of standby and the battery is at 93% so it's losing 1/3 of a percent per hour, I figure 12 days max on standby!

I installed 20130810 c no problem

I installed 20130810 d no problem

I installed 20130810 darthjabba no problem

I have reinstalled 20130810 d to keep CWM from  darthjabba no problem

remember that the kernel doesn't "eat" power but it's hardware

what you see is absolutely correct but we have no explanation

regards

I'm not an expert, but i think that is not entirely accurate. The kernel might not "eat" battery per se, but the loaded modules in a monolithic kernel can and will consume battery. Also, if the kernel has been "optimized" to minimize its RAM footprint by dynamically load and unload several modules, that in itself would consume battery.Or, perhaps to make things smoother, the kernel has been "optimized" to keep loaded certain modules that would also consume battery. Either way, considering that, as far as we know, the only differentiation between versions seems to be the kernel, we can assume that the way it handles modules loading can be what makes an impact on standby battery consumption. Anyway, wharever the reason, it"s good to know that this version is working better for a lot of users.
