Hi admin, thank you for the Rom, it's great!
I've installed the 2013/04/25 release on my Cube U30GT2, it works pretty good! The first start and load of the Android environment took a while. I believe that's normal.
The only problem I noticed was that 'Reddit News Free' 3 to 4 times after the installation crashed. On the original Rom of the U30GT2 (1.03) it didn't do that. But it could also be something else... now the app works fine.
Well, the rest... DAMN FAST!!! Firefox, Reddit, the apps menu (overview over the installed apps), switching between the screens, etc. is blazingly fast and almost or completely smooth (iPad like)! Of course, there are still some slow apps, for example Adobe Reader and the Play Store (no surprise...). These apps are just poorly implemented and/or very cpu/gpu intensive.
The camera is also a lot better than before. On the original Rom it was hardly possible to take good photos, they were almost not stabilized. Now, it's fine.
The WiFi didn't change compared to the 1.03 Firmware (IMHO, I didn't measure it). I don't have any problems with it.
=> So far, everything works fine.
I have to thank you again, because before I was a bit disappointed. My new 'uberfast' quadcore tablet was always lagging and many apps (Firefox, some draw apps, ...) weren't even usable as they were really slow... And now...
I'll of course report problems, if there are any.
Mr Spock

Hi admin
first post and thanks for all the efforts to make the U30GT2 even better.
I installed the official 4.2.2 beta earlier today and found it really slow! Typing was a character behind displaying all the time and when I used BS Player Pro for video playback it was dropping frames. It didn't do that before and the Antutu score went down from just below 17,000 to just below 15,000, not good.
Hopefully they will optimize it before they release the final version.
Rob

1st post here too, I have a growing review here
Cube U30GT2 Review- Chinese 10.1" Quad Core Tablet, 1920x1200 display, for £177/$269 from Android
on the tablet, just installed 4.2.2
Everything is more or less the same, but with jellybean 4.2.2. The problem I am having is the rear camera is now terrible- looks like a VGA picture stretched to 5MP (5MP selected in options) Hopefully this will get fixed with future updates.
Is anyone on here a Chinese speaker? Be handy to know if any new updates are planned.
1.05 is out by the way, seems to have added OTG support it seems, still on 4.1
Custom firmware 1.05 rooted is ready

After 1 Day of testing so far:
+ in general buttersmooth and responsive, very satisfied with performance
+ good wifi reception
+ playing Videos using mxplayer, tv stream or youtube works fine with hwa
+ no problems with games so far except Zen Pinball (with Zen being optimized for Tegra)
= can´t really comment on battery so far, will update here
= keyboards seems to lag in some apps; might have to do with me using swift keyboard tablet, will try stock and update here
=wifi dropped a few times for apparently no reason; it recovered in a few secs but the videostream stopped. might have something to do with "wifi powersave". have it deactivated now, will update here
- Chrome is very slow for me,at times it takes like 10-15 seconds before it starts loading a page or responding to any input. That´s sad, but Boat Browser works as smooth as chrome on the nexus 7
- having a small problem with launcher-background not scrolling when swiping through the homescreens. happens with stock as well as other launchers (tried Nova and Go)
Overall, it´s a stable rom with minor squirks; good beta, go check it out guys Thx for bringing this up, admin

I thought I had to press the upgrade button in RKBatchTool?
And yes it was the right file, only had the one.
Rob
I also didn't know this, I have just been clicking upgrade?

How does your camera look out of interest? Trying to work out why mine looks awful.
Great work though Admin, and Cube too- I'm pretty surprised at how quickly these updates are getting released!

Hi!
I have tried the official Cube 4.2.2 beta 2013/04/25.
There is one disturbing thing :
- When you scroll webpages in the browser, brightness changes randomly. Only in the browser, not in other applications, or other browsers like Firefox or Chrome.
I hope this issue will be solved in future versions.

Hi all,
I upgraded yesterday my brand new u30gt2 yesterday with your suggested firmware. I expected to be able to use multi user / profile feature.
Pity, I can't find the option in the settings.
Have you deseabled it or is it due to my lack of knowledge of Android ?
By the way, update worked gread at first time.
Thanks for your help.

For whatever reason, the Multi user selection has been disabled, it should be underneath the Apps menu in Settings.
However, did a couple of minutes on google, and found that adding
fw.max_users=5
to build.prop, then rebooting, enables the feature. This allows up to 5 users, change the number as desired.
I edited build.prop using ES File Explorer, navigating to /system/build.prop and adding it to the bottom.
Usual disclaimer, messing with build.prop can make your tablet explode, ect ect...
Admin, maybe a worthwhile edit to future firmwares?
