Hi All,

I just wanted to chime in that since I've been using the:

kasty-cube_u30gt2-422-204t_20130621-rooted4.zip ROM,

I haven't had any trouble being able to use the ArcTools app to "Reboot Recovery" to CWM Recovery.

I think I've mentioned my particular (ineptness?/inability) to get CWM to survive between flashing ROMs (although from someone's comments I got the impression that the Rockchip Batch Tool obliterates the space where CWM lives?).

Though for the life of me I still don't understand why if that is true that the ClockworkMod Android Robot would be on the wallpaper in the background after flashing another ROM with the Rockchip Batch Tool if it really did wipe it off the tablet. That still puzzles me.

So I thought I'd share.

Have you tried it with the latest test ROM? Also what version of rock chip tool did you flash with?

I can't for the life of me get it to work!

I second your pain. I have had no luck getting cwm to boot.

Tried 5.5.04/6.0.31/Hejira's recovery from flashmyandroid/fun's U30GT2 and when i tried to load

 kasty-cube_u30gt2-422-204t_20130706-cwm_rooted4.zip

all i got was a flashing black screen on every one of them.

My tablet came with JB4.2 on it. I have tried to apply JB4.1 but that also gives the flashing black screen.

My serial starts as follows: U30GT2M32GBW13240721xxx

Good news for me anyway.

So i was unable to apply cwm to kastsy rom. Kept giving me a flashing black screen.

Wanted to keep the 4gb app space. The parameter file loaded fine on stock 06.06.13 but recovery would not work.

I have succesfully downloaded and rooted stock 06.06.07 and left the app space as it was (2gb) but replaced

the recovery file with funs rk30generic_cwm.zip

http://www.flashmyandroid.com/forum/showthread.php?4252-RK3188-CWM-by-fun-v6-0-3-1

Now up and running with cwm installed.

Would be nice if someone could have a look at the parameter files so that we can use the 4gb app space as welll as cwm.

It is bit strange that we still have to deal with choices of 1GB, 2GB or 4GB or more partitions for apps creating different partitions worrying if we will have enough space and having headache with it. I thought this was the problem of the past. Since Honeycomb MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) is standard for Android devices. All Nexus devices since Galaxy Nexus are MTP. I really like that feature on my Gnex. For those who don't know, this means that your apps share the same space as whatever files you want to put on your internal flash drive. No need to partition flash drive in to two, one for apps and one for data. There is only one partition and it's shared. Other advantage is that when you connect your pad to the PC to transfer files, those files do not need to be unmounted from your pad to appear on your PC. Files are available to both, pad and PC at the same time during USB connection.

Therefore, my question for developers is, is it possible for us to switch to MTP for internal space on next custom rom release?

I don`t think that a file transfer protocol is actually why you are able to access all of your internal storage as, personal and app storage.
MTP is just a type of connection that allows you to access the files from your device in the same time from the pc and the device also.

Now i remembered. On cube, we have internal storage divided to EXT partition for apps and second FAT formatted partition as space we can use. Nexus line of devices use only partition for both, apps and whatever data you want to put on it and you will see it as only one internal drive. This makes all simpler but MTP protocol needs to be used for transfers between PC and cube tab. I think it is easier to just have one EXT partition on place always having to choose/predict how big your EXT partition needs to be and your apps run out of space eventually.
