Thanks. The first load of screenshots have disappeared, but the last lot (7 of them, from the "1800t5", I believe) are there.

So what are your overall impressions of the 3 kernels, and which would you prefer to use all the time?

Thanks.

I am liking the first two. I am retesting the first two again. The first #38 today, while actually using the tablet for some reading and browsing maybe a couple of downloads or trying my dead trigger 2 game. I will retry the second one tomorrow, same process.

My only consern with the second is the heat's effect on the battery longevity, though i think it was smoother. The third I think used the most juice, am I right?

As an aside, I tried loading all the #12 last night and none got past the initial cube logo. Not even to the arctable logo. So I reflashed

1800t1. I will report on it tomorrow for you.

I have another issue perhaps you can help me with. I had flashed the kitkat camera app to try it out and was not able to make it complete the install because it conflicted with the stock camera name, and i could not uninstall the stock gallery/camera apk so i uninstalled it. While the gallery app still opens and i can work with my pictures, the camera fc gallery each time I try to open it. I checked the app in system and althoug the gallery apk is there, and i reinstalled it to try to fix the camera, it did not do anything for the camera. There is also no camera icon in system. Do you think when I uninstalled the kitkat camera apk that it uninstalled my camera app also? Can you give me any suggestions?

thanks in advance.

Thanks. I have abandoned #12. I get too many lags with it.

I am working on variations of 1800t1 and 1800t4 for #38. I think what we want is something in-between the two. I have tried about 10 different permutations of both of them (voltage and frequency) and I think I'm getting close to cracking it. Once I get the optimum specs, it will be easy to apply to any kernel (including #12, and the forthcoming Kitkat).

I have had the same experience with the Kitkat camera app, and so my camera is also broken. I'm not too bothered about it at the moment, because once I am happy with the O/C kernel #38, I will make a new ROM for v2.06, with the new O/C #38 kernel, which will hopefully overwrite all the Kitkat nonsense that I installed.

Very cool, that would be awesome. I was worried about the camera issue because I finally got my mom and my family visually connected to her Iphone through google hangouts. It took forever to talk her through the 'connections' setup. Since the kitkat camera fiasco she says she can barely see us. and gets a bit frustrted. Anyway, I look forward to the process and the pay-off, let me know anything i can do to help.

HI Jabba!

Great work with this Kernel.

I went from an score of 18284 in AnTuTu to 20643 with the 38 t4 kernel!

I will try for a couple of days and get back if any problems arise!

Okay Darth, I have gone back and forth twice with both Kernels(#38s) and though the t4 is smoother than t1, i have some battery life worries regarding t4 longevity due to heat. You know what I mean? Like t4 is smoother, app to app and other connectivity issues, but it heats up more, i think. T1 is less smoother, especially when an app update is loading in, but gets less heat. The difference is not much I think, I do get lag when t4 is bringing in new apps or updates from the playstore. Its only annoying if I am doing more than kindle reading.

Right now am not a heavy user for other than reading and the occasional game(maybe once per week for two hours or so). But I do have to "try it bug" on anything that will make the tablet better, within reason, so again let me know if u got something you want me to try.

Thanks. I have done many more tests, but will do a few more before making other kernel images available for testing (probably tomorrow).

I have a new update on battery drain.
Somebody mentioned, that the battery drains, even if the tablet is completely shut down.
I thought it is impossible, but I've tried. Last night I've turned it off with 81% pattery capacity, and today morning, when I switched it on, after booting up, it showed only 78%.

Here is a second test package. It contains t8, t10, t13 and t14, with max cpu clocked at 1800mhz, max gpu clocked at 768mhz, and DDR clocked at 720mhz. It also contains "lowspeed" (max cpu at 1000mhz) and "highspeed" (max cpu clocked at 1800mhz, with very small reductions downward).

The "highspeed" kernel is likely to generate a lot of heat, and will eat the battery power for breakfast - it should only be used sparingly (e.g., if you need a particular game to run very smoothly).

The "lowspeed" kernel should be used if you need to do only light stuff, like reading e-books or youtube or web browsing. I am not sure how much extra battery juice it will give you (perhaps not much - but it is worth testing).

My priorities for testers are t8, t10, t13 and t14.

Thanks.

Okay, I will try these possibly starting tonight. DO I need to go in and set these to high speed to test then re-set them to low speed? If what program do I use to do these. I will start with the reading since that is what I do most, so I will need to set it to lower speed I guess.

I am on it!

To be honest, the "lowspeed" and "highspeed" kernels are just for the curious. I would rather we focused on t8, t10, 13 and t14

Probably a silly question, but.... does using a cpu speed control (like CPU Master) with these kernels affects the performance of the CPU? And/or the battery life?

Okay so i took these today in my office. I re-installed the kernel #t8 and did as directed per your original instructions. I left the tablet on the battery page so it would stay awake. I have no wifi at the office, but i did leave it on the ON position. As you can see I did the entire 5+ hour test. Now, I did have the kernel on over the last two days and found it responsive. When charging it was not overly hot. Opening and closing apps there is some delay and non responsive apps with a question over whether I wanted to close it or not. Id I chose to wait without pressing acceptance nor declining, it did open the app completely, but only with apps that I had not open completely in the past. most appeared to be fine though. I read from my kindle app and browsed with no noticeable heating in back of tablet. There was a little bit around the outward edge of the tablet but nothing like the others we have tested.

Baterry wise I will leave to your cheking the screenshots and when I test the next two kernel.

As always a pleasure to help were possible. loading the next kernel in a few minutes.

On a separate but already proble, Admin. i am still unable to do attachments since my first set. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I followed the tutorial but the best i can do is cut and paste dropbox addy. Any suggestions for my end? I am on windows pc vista. Maybe i cheked something that restricts my ability to post on this site?
